Finding & Getting Inspiration for Brilliant Compelling Concepts!

Effective Marketing starts with an Awesome Creative and Compelling Concept! Jillian Bullock proves this one nicely!

Effective Marketing starts with an Awesome Creative and Compelling Concept! Jillian Bullock proves this one nicely!

Hello Awesome People!

When it comes to really Kick Butt Marketing, you need a Great Concept. You need something that Grabs your Attention and makes Amazing Impression.

The simple fact of the matter is that we often see Thousands of Messages everyday and you need a “Concept” that Cuts to the Chase, a “Cut-Through” that makes people Notice and want to Buy!

Having once worked for the Government, going Technical and then becoming an “Evil Marketer” (lol) it was a Massive Change to how my Brain had to Work. My days protecting my country certainly engaged my Creative Mind, however it wasn’t until I was really starting in my Business, that I stretched myself to Deliver More.

These days I am known to be Highly Creative and one person I wanted to shine the Spotlight on is the Awesome Jillian Bullock – “LinkedIn Ninja Down Under”. There aren’t many people in Sydney that Understand LinkedIn Marketing better than me, and Jillian is one who does, and I Proudly consider her an Awesome Business Partner whom I gladly Promote.

Jillian recently upgraded her Branding & Image and it was a great source of Research & Discussion for many of us. Jillian is a Raving Expert and the Marketing Challenge was to come up with an Image / Concept that matches her Awesome Skills.

As we Contributed to her great Concept, it took lots of Brain Storming Discussions & Thinking to really support her in Nailing the Right Direction for her. Yes, she is Awesome, yes she is LinkedIn and the “Ninja” Theme was what Appealed to her Point of Difference. There were discussions of having her as an Actual “Ninja” and as we worked on the Concept of “Lucy Liu” out of Kill Bill came up.

It Immediately Resonated and became the “Inspiration” for the Concept. Jillian then took it on, and ran with it, coming up with a “Kill Bill / Lucy Liu / Asian” Inspired Image to Support the “LinkedIn Ninja Down Under” Themed Concept.

I have to take it off to her Intelligence and Brilliance for this – she has been Receiving Raved Reviews and her Inspiration came from Lots of Research, Discussions  and Brain Storming with her Network.

Pure Creativity sometimes comes, however it’s quite common the Result of lots of thought, hard work and keeping it in “The Back of Your Mind” for a Period of time, for to Building and Development, bringing the Idea to Fruition.

My Advice & Lessons here? Great Profitable Marketing is based on great Creativity and it Requires an Open Mind with tons of Brain Storming. Feel free to Push Yourself “Out of the Square” and there is nothing wrong with being a Little Crazy  to show your Uniqueness- you never know when that Super Profitable Idea will come.

The Profitable Importance of Old School Basics & Modern Innovation!

Old School thinking is awesome when melded with Modern Thinking and technology. Take the best of the past and deliver more of it with technology!

Old School thinking is awesome when melded with Modern Thinking and technology. Take the best of the past and deliver more of it with technology!

Hello Awesome People!

After watching Mad Max: Fury Road all I can say it was really Well Done. It is a Modern Action Film with endless References to the Original “Old School” Max Mad making it a Brilliant film.

This must not have been an easy job by any stretch of the Imagination. The moment you say “I am going to redo a timeless classic” is really setting yourself up for a Harsh Critique. They Delivered and I couldn’t help thinking “Mel Gibson” every step of the way.

Bringing it back to Marketing & Business, it made me Reflect onto the Reasons why I am not only still around – but my Business is Growing quite Rapidly these days. I have also reflected on my Awesome Clients too, who are happily Kicking Butt as well – especially in how they use “Modern Technology” combined with “Old Fashioned Business Sense” within all Facets of their Businesses.

Like Mad Max, my Clients are always Encouraged to take “The Right” part of the Past – and combine it with what is Up and coming that Fits in with the the Future of their Industry. I Find sometimes, Businesses get left behind for two Reasons; one being they are Out of Touch and secondly – on being they are Over-Obsessed with the latest Technology / Toys, and this can have a Detrimental Effect.

Success today Requires the Intelligent Hybrid of both Extremes, and my take on this is:

– Old School to Keep: Service, Connecting with People, Personalization, Quality, Results, Outcome, Integrity and Looking after People.

– Modern Innovations to Use: Leveraged Communications, Automated Online Marketing, Great Imagery & Modern Day Toys & Technology that will help you get all that you need Done everyday, Efficiently.

These bases of “The Past” combined with the “The Future” give way for one Successful Business full of Innovation and results.

My take and Advice? Go see Mad Max: Fury Road. Also, think about your Business & Marketing quite Carefully and work hard on Blending “Old World” values with the “Cutting Edge”. I think of Technology not being a Replacement – but a means of doing more “Old World” Tasks Faster & Better. If you have great Products, Services and Take Care of your Clients – Technology allows you to do more of it on a Grander Scale.

The Profitable Importance of Being Generous with Your Ideas, Knowledge & Information!

The Key to Sales Success is being Generous. What better way to prove that you can be trusted and you know your stuff?

The Key to Sales Success is being Generous. What better way to prove that you can be trusted and you know your stuff?

Hello Awesome People!

My business partner Martha Arifin and I have been Kicking Butt lately, with tons of new Clients, cracking Mid-Tier & Corporates – making new High Profile friends along the way. It’s been an Honour and one of the big Reasons we have picked up a lot of new and Awesome Accounts is because of how people find that we are quite Generous with Information.

Talking our larger Clients, they are almost always being Canvassed by other Consultants, Coaches & Agencies offering them so called “Great Solutions”. One of them was offered a Package at a special rate of $5,500 / Month so someone can promote them for more Clients.

When the Client rightfully asked “How does this work?” – the Agency came back saying “That’s confidential” and it’s “Proprietary Information” and the like.

So wait a second, and stop right there. Someone walked in asking for almost $6K / Month and they aren’t going to tell their Potential Client how they are going to use it to Benefit them? Wow! that’s a big Mistake. And what a load of BS? (my Awesome Client then chucked them out).

Talking on the Positive, Martha and I have done Incredibly well through the Generosity we Present to our Potential Clients in all our Initial Meetings. We sit with the Potential Clients, try to give them nothing but Value to our personal Best for 2 hours, and we almost always get an Invite back and/or the Opportunity to Quote / Propose on a Fee Based Project or Ongoingly.

It’s all starting to make Sense to me now. People are sick and tired of meeting people who are just trying to sell them something or “Lure” them into some type of Offer without a Mutual Understanding on both Parties. People Love hiring people who can Solve their Problems through being Generous with information.

Put yourself in our Potential Clients’ Position:

“If for Free they help me this Much, Imagine if I actually gave them Money?”

When you look at things from this Viewpoint it gives Rise to many great things & Insights.  My Thinking & Advice? Give, give & give when you are Pitching / Working with people. It is only Proof and a Demonstration of the fact that you are Awesome at What you Do, and you Know what you are Doing.

7 x Tips for Making Awesome Videos that Sell, Inspire and Cost Nothing!

Compelling videos grab interest, get fans and ultimately sell products and services. It's been a great marketing tool for my own business!

Compelling videos grab interest, get fans and ultimately sell products and services. It’s been a great marketing tool for my own business!

Hello Awesome People!

Video is one Awesome Marketing Tool, and one Massive Barrier to doing it Effectively is often the Cost. However, you have nothing to worry about, after reading this Blog Article – I do tons of Video “For less to Nothing” and I want to Share with you how I can do it and 7 x of my own Top Insights.

This blog Article is dedicated to a new friend! The Awesome “Jasmine Liffen” sent me a Message on my Facebook Business Page today, saying that she is a Marketing Specialist and has used Video to show off her Employer’s Products. Her Question to me has Inspired today’s Topic and I trust it will help people like Awesome Jasmine with your future Videos too.

Enjoy my Top 7 x Tips for Video Marketing & Production:

1) No Cost Approaches: As you know from the “Awesome Marketing with Edward Zia” Facebook Page, I personally Love Recording videos with my Samsung Galaxy S6. I used to use my iPad and also when it comes to more Professional work – I also use “Camtasia” to record my screen.

2) Upload Straight from Mobile to Facebook / YouTube: Both Facebook and YouTube are Outstanding for Video and I personally love Uploading Directly from Mobile to Facebook with little Effort.

3) The Personal Video Log Approach: Depending on what you are Selling, it can be great doing a Selfie Video of you are Presenting, Speaking, Giving Advice, a Review or even Interviewing a Guest who is Standing next to you. As a Marketing Personality this Works wonders – you may be a Coach, Mentor or Consultant, etc.

4) The Commentator “Out of Eyes” Approach: This is where the Camera Views out of your Own Eyes, as to not be seen yourself – but with your Voice Over in the Background Commentating, Reviewing and Talking through the Storyline. You may pick up a Product, talk about what you Love about it’s Features, show it off and explore things that way. Works Great!

5) The PowerPoint Presentation: Using Camtasia (which you can get on PC & Mac which I mentioned earlier) you can record your Screen, even turn on your Webcam so you make a Cameo to Appear at the top corner Talking through the Presentation video. This works great too!

6) Make it Compelling Television: Make sure the Topic and Tonation are Interesting, as you would expect watching an Informercial for instance. High Energy, Speed, Funny Words – whatever that works for you to Enhance the Image you are trying to Come Across. I do it and I Love it.

7) Pump out stuff all the time – no need to be a Perfectionist, and just be Awesome: Please try too hard to be Perfect. Your first Videos will be Average, but in Time, Practice makes Perfect. All you need is to be Confident, Clear and Precise with your Objective.

7 x Profitable Reasons to Get Attacked, Be Yourself & Be Truly Unique!

Right or Wrong - Good or Bad - Sometimes we get attacked for our views. This is great! Use it as motivation to get stronger, tougher and dig deeper for your unique perspective and take!

Right or Wrong – Good or Bad – Sometimes we get attacked for our views. This is great! Use it as motivation to get stronger, tougher and dig deeper for your unique perspective and take! (Thank you again to the Fallout Series for the great imagery!)

Hello Awesome People!

I can certainly tell you that God is sending me a Clear message right now in Terms of the Challenges he is sending me, i.e. “Edward, just be yourself and don’t worry about what anyone says”.

One great person I have to thank on this one is Grant Dempsey from 4Networking. I was very Lucky to work with him for years in helping Launch the 4Networking Series in Australia, and he always Mentored me and gave me Great Advice. One thing he always told me “Edward, sometimes people take a big s#!t on you from a great height because they are like that”.

It seemed to be Odd Advice Grant gave me at the Time, but as time Passed I found this Mentoring and thinking to be totally Great and Helpful (thank you Grant!) in Preparing me for what is yet to come. I have always Loved his Support and to me he is an Amazing Character – As time passes, I found this statement to be True. Not  only for me, but many others!

Beyond me, many of my Friends and Colleagues, are getting a Different Dosages of the Same Lesson with many of us Rising up to Overcome Critics. Stay Confident in your Believes and be Comfortable in Expressing our Views without Fear of Reprisal or the like.

I have had some people really Disagree with me and Attack my Ideas lately. It did really rattle my Cage at the start, (maybe for about 25 minutes) and now I am back in the Zone – more Determined than ever. Some of my Clients too, who got sadly Similar Treatment, have also Bounced back Hard on the Counter-Strike too which I think is totally Awesome.

For me, the more I have Pushed Against the “Negative Voices”, Embraced the “Positive Support” and gone for what I have Believed in – the more Profitable I am Becoming. It has really Forced me to Stop, Take Pace and Ask Why. Here are my 7 x Reasons of why it’s a Profitable move to “Be Yourself” and “Be Unique”:

1) Overcoming Tall Poppy Syndrome / Envy: If someone Feels Threatened or are Jealous of you, it’s Probably Fair to say that they don’t want you to Succeed (at least beating their personal best). Chances are their Advice (such as the Standard Put Downs) won’t be to your betterment. In fact, it will probably Damage you. Best to steer clear of these people.

2) Coming up with something different: “Different” means it has a Greater Chance of Standing Out. Sometimes with new Ideas, come Uncertainty and without Solid Stats, certain people might Attack what is Different to what they have or use for those reasons. As an Entrepreneur, your Focus is to Stand Out from the Crowd, show a Unique Selling Point, in order to Drive new Sales. Therefore, if you are Different and your Sales are up because of it, then – Awesome!

3) Being Attacked = You are Getting Attention: Sure we may want Positive Attention, but here is the Bright Side of things? People are noticing you. All Publicity is Good Publicity, That is definitely a Good thing!

4) The Feeling of Satisfaction: This is a Very Motivating Emotion. Just like overcoming Bullies, Naysayers, people who say you suck and still Succeeding means you’re doing the Right Thing. It Helps Free you of any Personal Limitations to please Everyone around you and I think its – totally Awesome!

5) Exploring to find your Unique Point of Difference: This one is Important! If you are too afraid to step out and try new Things because people “Trash you or Whatever”, there isn’t the Freedom to explore and find your Unique Difference in the Market. Don’t be Afraid to try that Idea you’ve always had in the back of your mind! It might just be your ticket to Wealth and Abundance.

6) It means you are Pressing a Button: If no one Notices your work / doesn’t care, that is actually really Bad. It means your marketing is general mediocre sucks! If you are getting a Response, then that is Great. It’s doing its Job, and yay!

7) Being Noticed = Effective Marketing = Greater Chance of a Sale: Purple Cow? The odd Colour plane? Of course you need to Stand Out, dur!

In short, you get the Commercial reasons for what I am saying. It’s easy to say this too and Dealing with the Emotions can be quite a challenge. Try not to take it too personally, and take a Logical Approach. Weigh out the Good and the Bad outcomes, Test and measure the Results and see the Outcome for yourself.

My advice & thinking? Push your Boundaries each day, if you get Attacked – Be prepared to Defend your Stand. the more you explain the “Why” behind it, the more Compelling your Story will be. Double your Posts and if someone Hates a point you made in your blog, make it Again the following day. Let your both your Critics and Awesome Fans Motivate & Inspire you to Stay True to yourself!

Avoiding Silly Critics / Haters, Seeking Awesome Fans & Being the Profitable Unique Choice!

Avoiding Haters and Pursuing the Awesome can be a challenge in business, especially as we succeed and get more well known! But make no mistake, it's a very profitable & rewarding thing to do (Thank you Fallout and Vault Boy for the image use!)

Avoiding Haters and Pursuing the Awesome can be a challenge in business, especially as we succeed and get more well known! But make no mistake, it’s a very profitable & rewarding thing to do (Thank you Fallout and Vault Boy for the image use!)

Hello Awesome People!

For myself personally and many of the Extraordinary People I am Lucky to work with – “Being Unique” and “Standing Out” is almost always one of the Key Prerequisites for being Successful.

Be it with Great Ideas, unique Technology, a rare Personality or whatever the Case maybe, the Scenario for “Being Different = Success” is an easy one to argue.

Read any “Successful” person’s Story and coming at it from this Viewpoint  – “Average People get only Average Results”. To me, these simple Arguments / Social Proof will verify the point.

I read somewhere that Johnny Depp was (and probably still is) one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood, and the people that I Personally work with at the 7-Figure Level are in the Category of that very Rare type of people. Considering all this and the Direction you can tell this blog is going in, are the fact that All Successful People have their Fair share of Critics / Haters.

Even my top Clients who do nothing but Help people have Haters that just Trash them for no Logical Reason – including some of them who are Amazing kind people who spend their lives Helping people. I have had people who I have Invested my Time in helping (even at little / no charge), turn around and slam me for Whatever Reasons they may have. Usually, it all comes down to their own Insecurities or Issues that they are going through.

It’s the age old Aussie Tall Poppy Syndrome / The Green Eyed Monster / Pure Jealousy and the like coming to the Surface and I think it’s one of the main Reasons why many in our Country fear Success. When you succeed, you naturally open yourself to gaining more Fans and more Critics, if this is a risk you are willing to take, then Stay Strong and to the Core of your chosen Direction.

Fortunately, the Fans of the Successful people I know usually Greatly Outweigh the Critics / Haters they have.  Bringing it more back to Marketing – unless you are a Distinct Character/ person / Product offering or the like, it’s very hard to Stand Out and Achieve an Extraordinary Level of Performance without a few knock backs here and there. It takes Confidence, Strength and Guts to speak One’s Mind. For me, at times it’s Honestly been Challenge when I Felt the need to first Conquer and Convince my Own Mind before putting new Messages out into the Market. As it could be quite hard to try and Convince others if you are having trouble Convincing yourself in the first place.

Talking to the Awesome Positive here, Learning to Market with Confidence, not letting the Critics / Haters take up your Time, Thinking and being Brave enough to make Strong Claims about your Services / Products and where you Honestly Stand. It is Critical for being Noticed, for being Uniquely you, and having people choose you out of all the Crowd of “Average” people out there.

My advice and thinking? As you get Bigger and Better at what you do – you will get tons of Awesome Fans and people who aren’t. Mentally Block Out and Ignore the Haters and Focus your Energy on Improving the Awesomeness. It can be “Natural” at times to Outweigh the Negative and Block the Positive and this is BAD! So, do be aware and reel yourself back to the Right mind set.

Awesome People, Focus on your Marketing & Positive Energy! My Big Lesson and any of my 7 Figure Clients and Colleagues will tell you Exactly the same.

The Profitable Psychology of Selling: My Key Insights from Katrena Friel

The Awesome Katrena Friel gave some great advice on Personal Selling in tonight's Webinar. Impressive and outstanding!

The Awesome Katrena Friel gave some great advice on Personal Selling in tonight’s Webinar. Impressive and outstanding!

Hello Awesome People!

Katrena Friel is a cool, collected and very Awesome Operator. I was lucky to work with her tonight in our Live Webinar “Mastering the Psychology of Selling for More High Value Clients”. She is an Executive Coach and Sales specialist who has a very different take on Selling than I do. I come at it as a “Marketer”, she comes from a “Mindset / Coaching” Viewpoint.

(If you are interested in the Webinar Recording too, it is stored in “The Awesome Marketing Vault” >> Right Here!)

From working with the Awesome Katrena tonight in the Webinar, we may have Agreed on most things, Disagreed on others and from my High Level of Respect for her, I definitely walked away a much Richer for the Experience. When it comes to Selling, she Reinforced / Taught me some great Points which I’d love to share them with you:

1. Mindset & View of Selling: Katrena made a Great Point about the General Population having a Negative view of Salespeople. I Agree with this one in that the Strange Dichotomy is that we have to “Sell” in our Business, but even though we may Equally not like Salespeople on a Deeper Level. Getting over this, and Approaching selling as an “Educator” rather, is everything in this regard!

2. Turning Your Energy Up & Down: I really Admire how Katrena looked at things from the a Different Perspective in Mirroring Personalities. The Idea being is to turn one’s “Energy Up” for Higher Energy people or Down for more “Direct” type of people. When it comes to me as an example, I am Quite Direct and Focused in my Approach. I have Noticed that Katrena would Quite often Adapt to my Energy when we meet, and I quite like this! By Turning Up / Down your energy Level to Match the person you are Conversing with can really make the situation a lot more Comfortable for both Parties.

3. Talk or Cut to the Chase: Loved this Point! When you are in front of someone who is Direct, you pick up the Vibe and don’t Mess around. Often if someone wants to have a Chit/Chat, then you may also Feel Compelled to Reciprocate back, all depending on who you are trying to sell to. A Great Insight on this one!

4. Realize the Steps of Selling: In many Cases, usually people do not Purchase in just one Meeting. It takes multiple Meetings / Opportunities / Over Time to get through the Process until they are ready to Buy. I Liked this one! The Last thing you want to do is just Try and Close in the first Meeting, which might just be a great way of upsetting people and it just wouldn’t wash!

5. Accept that not Everyone will Like you: I have Personally went through something similar recently. Lately, I have met some Different Personalities who either just don’t gel with mine or at times Find my Approach a bit Offensive. (who would have thought right? 😉 Which has been really Great Practice for me! The best thing to do is to understand the situation, Accept it, and move on. Your work & Life will become much more Enjoyable, when you Realise that Focusing your Time and Energy on people with the Similar Ethics and Value set will help you go much Further.

6. Win / Win / Win / Win: Make sure each Deal is a Win for all Parties Involved. Make sure everyone makes Money, and in Style!

7. Online, Face to Face or Public – doesn’t matter: Be it you are Pumping out Facebook Posts or Face to Face conversing/presenting- understanding the Psychology of your Target Market is just Critical. With the Internet, it makes no Difference – you are still Speaking to an Audience of Potential Clients and trying to get their Interest in your Product & Services.

The Win / Win Importance of Awesome Profitable HIGH VALUE Clients!

Show Me the Money! All great clients relationships are a pure Win Win. You deliver high value and they pay you for that high value!

Show Me the Money! All great clients relationships are a pure Win Win. You deliver high value and they pay you for that high value!

Hello Awesome People!

When I started out in Business, I got some great Business Mentoring advice off a great man by the name of Jim Vass from ATB Partners. I had little to no Clients at the Time and I was busy meeting people and Working Hard at getting my first few new base of Clients.

Jim gave me some Sage Advice at the Start, almost asking this same trick Question I ask to clients today:

[Jim]: So Edward do you want more Clients?

[Green Edward]: Yes, Jim of course! I’d love some Clients.

[Jim]: Would you like a stack of Clients that don’t pay your Invoices and Waste your Time?

[Confused Edward]: Ahh, No Jim I wouldn’t.

[Jim]: So you want High Value Clients that will pay you?

[Penny Dropped Edward]: Ah, of course! Yes, I want the best Clients only!

This was a great Advice and to this day it has become the Core of what I advise Clients. When it comes to Marketing, anyone can get *Clients* and I know that anyone who has been in Business for a while, would know what it’s like to get Ripped Off by someone not Paying.

It can be quite Upsetting for many when this happens, and although we have things like Awesome VA’s to do the follow up and Debt Collectors Ultimately – they are really the last Resort Solutions that can be better Prevented. Going back to Jim’s Awesome Advice, he also made continual Reference too over the years of being able to “Pick” the Right Clients. You may Choose not to work with certain Clients if you feel that Payment is going to be an Issue. Obviously this is not good for your Business.

Bringing it back to Marketing, what is really Important is that you have obviously enough Clients coming through (so you aren’t desperate and have the choice to pick and choose) but you also are Attracting the Right people as Awesome as yourself.

Let’s face it, you have worked hard, Learned your Craft for years, are Brilliant at what you do and even more so – you are all about Delivering High Value for your Clients in your Products and Services. It’s only Fair that you get Paid (and of course legally binding) so it’s Pure Win / Win for everyone.

My advice and lessons on this? Get lots of Clients, you will always get Bad Payers every now and then – but do your best to only work with people as cool as yourself. Market with a Strong, Distinct and cool Image so you Repel the not so Awesome as well.

So as our Scientologist friend says, “SHOW ME THE MONEY!”

Meeting After Meeting, Win After Win & “Staying In the Zone”

Especially when we get traction and success, 'Meeting after Meeting' is common place. The trick is staying focused, positive and 'In the Zone'. It's not only profitable, its just more fun when we do!

Especially when we get traction and success, ‘Meeting after Meeting’ is common place. The trick is staying focused, positive and ‘In the Zone’. It’s not only profitable, its just more fun when we do!

Hello Awesome People!

For most of us Awesome Small Business Owners (and even large Corporates for that matter), “Meetings” are a Critical part of what we do. Be it meeting Clients, Potential Clients, Suppliers, doing “Secret Squirrel Deals” and the like – the more Meetings the Better.

Being in the “Consulting / Mentoring Space”, the more Meetings I have, the Bigger my Business Becomes. I am Booked quite in Advanced these days (which I am really Grateful for) and the Positive Challenge has been Keeping Up. I may meet with Clients, Potential Clients or Partners and some days I have had 8 x Hours of Meetings (say from 7AM Breakfasts to Evening Events).

This can be quite tiring, in that Respect and although it’s a fun Experience, it can be Emotionally Challenging. Be it you are meeting with people who are Stressed Out and Need Support, you may be Confronting Serious Business / Personal Issues, or it’s just a matter of the long hours catching up with you, it is not always easy getting through the day as a Mentor.

From more of a Sales Viewpoint and not so much of a “Marketing Viewpoint”, despite Long Days & Fatigue – I have really been working on “Staying in the Zone”. That is, let’s say you are Tired, bad things Happen or whatever the Case maybe, keeping your “Head in the Game” I find is just so Super Critical. Maintaining good health and endurance is important too.

Why? It’s Critical to stay in the Right Mind Set, Positive Mood, Helpful and Focused in these Meetings. When we are, we Deliver a better job, can pick up more Opportunities and Ultimately have a Great Conversion rate when it comes to selling.

My advice & lessons from this one? Be it you need some Mindset work or not, it’s really Important to Focus Emotions in the right Direction and stay “Productive & Positive” throughout the day. Be it you have a Major Change with things at Home, to more just the way you Think – you can be the best “Marketer” ever, but if you can’t have Consistently Positive and Driven meetings, it won’t Convert the way we need it.

I find personally, forgetting about our own Personal Issues and Focusing our Energy into the other Person’s Issues and Problems / World, is the Best way to go about things. If you are 100% Focused on Understanding in Helping someone Else, it makes your day much more Enjoyable and fulfilling.

The more we can “Stay in the Zone” the more we can Smile and Enjoy Productive & Profitable Results.

The Benefits of Being Surrounded by Tons of Awesome Business Women!

Business Women have a totally different style to networking than us men. I think we can learn a lot from them and the Awesome Natalie Moutia knows this topic well. Relationship first, money second!

Business Women have a totally different style to networking than us men. I think we can learn a lot from them and the Awesome Natalie Moutia knows this topic well. Relationship first, money second!

Hello Awesome People!

As a half Persian Man, living in Western Sydney I totally love being surrounded by Awesome Business Women. Tonight, I was incredibly lucky to visit the Opening Cocktail party of the Success Women’s Network (by Natalie Moutia) in the City & Inner West. Amazingly, there were about 150 Women and I think I was the only Man in the audience.

It was an Amazingly Engaging Event. I made some great new Contacts and I am lined up with heaps of new Meetings, which I am very happy about.

I also had lots of existing Clients in the Room, it was a great Event for them meet and Network with other Amazing Business Women just like them. And the Event itself has very Different Vibe from when you have lots of Men Networking in one room. One key thing I found was the difference in energy, it felt more Social, Relaxed and Personally Engaging.

When you have lots of Men Networking in a room, things often get more Direct, more Focused and Faster Paced. When you have lots of Women Networking in a room, things get more Conversational & more Relationship Building based. This isn’t Necessarily Good, Bad or Indifferent in any Case – Purely a different Approach and Experience when it comes to Working with Women in comparison with a Male audience.

Men in Business tend to be Directional and being Focused on Outcomes. Which can be a bit of an Issue is in Business Networking. Networking is more about Building Long Term Business Relationships, getting to know People First until the other parties are Comfortable enough to Refer Business to you, whether Directly or Indirectly. Outcomes such as “Direct Hard Selling” to someone you have just met, can usually be a Massive Issue in Terms of Building Effective Referral Partners & Business Relationships.

Even though I may be talking down my own Gender on this one, take note Men – I think we can really Learn something from the Ladies here. While in many Instances * It’s Great * to be Focused on the Outcomes; but when it comes to getting to know someone, this Personal Trait can be a Problem in a Networking situation.

From my Observation tonight, it seems to me that Women are generally more Trust Based, Clicky and Relationship Focused than Men when it comes to Building Business Relationships, and this gives them a Massive Edge in Networking for a more Long-Term Trusted Clientele Base. Most Women would prefer to Spend Time getting to Know each other on a Personal Level, Build Friendships before allowing Business to flow as a more “Natural” Process. So even if your Target Clientele are Women, maybe its Time to start Laying Down a good Foundation and Trusted Relationships, in order to Build a Loyal Client Base for your Business.

I had a wonderful night Networking with these 150+ Women, in that they just wanted to get to Know you and whatever happens Business Wise, will happen as we get to know Each other better.

My learnings & advice from this one? Relationships definitely matter in Business and it’s all about Building Trusted Relationships First and then Buying, Selling, and Referrals second. Women are Instinctively Naturally great at this! If you are a Dude Reading this, Slow Down and make Friends First before the Reeling and Dealing. (could even work if you are Really Interested in getting to know a Lady) If you are an Awesome Chick looking to expand your Female Connections, Play to your Strengths and get Connected with your Target First before getting down to the Nitty Gritty.

The simple Reason is that if we try and sell TOO early, people just Switch Off and you get a big fat NO. It’s better for anyone to get to Know and Understand what you do First and the Right thing / or Sell will eventually take its Natural Course. This is the Exact Logic I have Successfully Built my Business on, and it certainly works. You never know when you will receive that Awesome Deal of a Life Time or Referral from someone you spoke and met up with for a Coffee a few years ago, etc…

The Profitable Importance of Being “Out & About”

Being 'Out and About' sounds simple on the surface, but is profound from a marketing viewpoint. You got to be out there to meet people, spread the word and pick up clients! (Thank you Sierra / Leisure Suit Larry for the image use)

Hello Awesome People!

When it comes to Small Business Sales & Marketing, I think it’s Critical to be Out and About. Unless you are a “Pure Online Marketer” (which is incredibly rare especially when people are Starting Out), chances are you need to be Out There Showing Off your Assets, Meeting People and Squeezing Palms to Build your Retutation, Influence and pick up new High Value Clients.

I was lucky to meet with an Old Colleague today who I have lots of Respect for. She is a brilliant Photographer (and I can’t tell you that she is the awesome Yve Lavine who did some great work for a client recently x x lol).

We met quite early in our stages of business some years ago and we caught up and reflected how in a way many things have come “Full Circle”. We have seen Plenty Come & Go in the last three years as we Shared Stories & Adventures. The people who have stayed, didn’t surprise us and the people that have “Gone” didn’t Surprise us either. Quite a few people we used to know had actually Quit their Start Ups and either have left the country or went back to being an Employee, withdrawing from the Small Business Space.

As Yve and I spoke in more detail, we reflected on the people that have Made It and stood the Test of Time. We both Proudly could accept that title and one of the key reasons is that we both Understood the Importance of being “Out & About”.

That is, if I can think of anyone in Business who is successful (including my 7-Figure clients) they are generally “A People’s Person” and are those that are happy to be in the Public Eye, you see at plenty of Different Events, Gatherings, Avid Networkers who meet lots of people and the like.

Why is this the case? Well, I think it’s as Simple in that they know Hundreds (if not thousands) of people, are always in the Back of people’s Minds and are Continually Meeting new people which Increases the odds of picking up Clients. That makes Perfect Sense right?

Let’s say you have a 20% chance of getting a Client for every Networking Event you attend. If you went to 10 Events and then the Probability would be to pick up 2 of them, let’s say (touch wood). You won’t always pick up Clients when you “Network”, but the more you do it, your Network of referrals will grow, and the better things will get. I can talk personally on this one too! The more I am out there, the more Clients I get! whether Directly or Indirectly, getting out there definitely helps.

My advice and thinking? As per Yve’s thinking, if you are in Small Business be “Out & About” as much as you can. It’s fun, enjoyable and a very profitable use of one time. Meet heaps of people, so you know you will get enough Clients in powerhouse Profitable Style!

The Cuteness Factor in Marketing & the Importance of Standing Out!

The Cute Rat was one powerful marketing strategy for sure! Besides being the mans pet, it was a gold mine when it came to donations. This cool man of the street gets marketing!

Hello Awesome People!

During my trip to visit Clients in Sydney CBD today, it was an Interesting and Enriching experience walking basically from the South to the North of the city. It’s roughly a 45 minute walk and I saw all sorts of Different things. Great Concepts, from the High Class Affluent side through to the Sad Mean Streets side of things, and the People living on it, all mixed in a Melting Pot.

Sadly, as you walk through the City – there are a lot of Homeless People begging on the Streets. Mostly, the Common Tactic is someone sitting there looking Sad, with a Sign telling a Story asking for Money. It’s very easy to tune out to the mass Negative Sales Approach. And as I was walking Along, I Noticed a very Clever man of the Streets. He was sitting there, Smiling and with him was his little Pet rat “Kimberly” having lunch on top of milk crate.

It was very cute, and I certainly felt Drawned and Compelled –  I went up and Approached them – gave a small Donation in order to Learn more about the man and his story. While the rat was eating away, he was feeding her freshly cooked rice, you can tell she was enjoying herself and Loved it. Donation wise, he was doing Really Well and Attracting lots of Positive Attention. As far as “Begging” goes, this guy had the work laid out for him, and he was Reaping it. Obviously it’s Tragic that people have to Beg in today’s society, however this man’s own Intelligence at getting Attention (and looking after his pet) was Impressive. If only a Basic Idea like this can be taken to the next Level (ethically of course), to Create a Sustainable Venture for a Better Standard of Living for him and his little friend.

Bringing it back to Marketing, “Cuteness” is Obviously a great Marketing Strategy and what our friend of the Streets really Nailed – was the Importance of Standing Out from the Crowd. I have Travelled the World, and sure I have seen beggars with pets before, but I have never seen such a Cute little Rat eating away, which worked well as a Unique Selling Point from a Commercial Mindset.

When it comes to Creativity and Concepts, we really got to Force Ourselves these days to Think Outside the Square. It can be very Tempting keep your Strategies Safe, and do something that everyone else is doing, however it very Rarely Works well. I have found personally and with the Thousands I have worked with over the years – for all Small and New Businesses to Succeed, you need to come up with Original Brand, through New and Creative Ideas in order to get the Resonation and Response from given Marketing Campaigns.

My advice & thinking? Like our friend on the Streets – you got to come up with something a little Different that are new to draw in Positively Attention. The better we do that, the more Profitable Clients we can get!
