The Ultra Elite Martha Arifin. It’s a pleasure spending time with an expert such as cool as her!

Hello Awesome People!

It’s been several years now since I met the “Quiet Asian Website Girl”.

Some years ago I was in a shared Networking Event project and I remember first hearing from this detailed character in how they built websites that sold. I had no idea that 3 years later we’d be Business Partners, running Shared Workshops (such as the Profitable Marketing Forum) and would have a endless list of shared clients and wins together.

In looking back, I am very lucky to have met Martha in that my business & life would not have the richness (or the probable size) it does today. She does amazing websites (as you can see at Jehbco here as a sample), is a very ethical and considered character and is a pleasure to work with.

I get asked all the time, “Edward how do I find great Business Partners?”. Well, the truth of the matter is that it can take some time. I have worked with many people as referral partners over the years and had my fair share of people taking and not giving back. Equally speaking too, I have met some amazing people over the years who I have forged deep personal and working friendships with. What I have learned is that great referral partners are hard to find and I can count my best partners on one hand.

BUT – the great partners form very profitable partnerships that is great for everyone. I always say to clients that you want about 5 x great referral partners and the trick to finding them is just keeping your eyes out, meeting lots of people and being the first one to pass on referrals. It’s important to give first and what happens is simply this:

– You get the Selfish Piggy’s that take, then everyone hates them and often fail in business (I am thinking of one person in particular who really did this to me one).

– You get the Awesome Kind people that give, then everyone loves them and they often get better and bigger in business (Martha Arifin being a prime example of this).

My advice & thinking? People like Martha Arifin don’t come around every moment but when they do the best thing is to do your best to look after them with tons of help and quality referrals. The good ones like her will give back and before you know it – you will be referring each other lots of business and helping each other win in a profitable manner.

Start looking, meet lots of people, you will be disappointed at times – but equally speaking, you will meet your “Martha’s” and get some amazing results.

The Profit Driven Importance of “No-Bull” Sales & Marketing!

No Bull, No Birds, No Cows, No Nothing - Great Marketing is honest, direct and doesn't overpromise!

No Bull, No Birds, No Cows, No Nothing – Great Marketing is honest, direct and doesn’t over promise!

Hello Awesome People!

I have been very lucky to pick up lots a new awesome clients lately – however hear some sad stories about them. A few of them have been ripped off really badly by previous Consultants and for me working with them it’s quite an arduous (however pleasureable) job of winning them over and helping them get their businesses get back on track.

I heard tragic stories of them paying purely thousands for very basic and general information – with some of it being blatantly wrong and really throwing their businesses off track. What I found interesting about this was how they were offered the so called “Services”. They were promised basically to make tens of thousands of dollars with so called “Secret Squirrel” strategies to get only nowhere quickly.

This got me thinking about the old fashioned rules of “No-Bull” when it comes to Sales & Marketing. I always suggest to my clients (and follow myself) the importance of being “Real” when it comes to selling people services. It can be very easy to overpromise and underdeliver and the best counter to that is really telling people the truth.

When it comes to what I do – will I make someone a Million Dollars tomorrow? Certainly the opposite of yes applies here. However, what I do promise is highly effective Sales & Marketing Strategies to get people what they want.

I have had some people over the years (not many actually) decide to hire someone else over myself because they promise “More” in terms of results. Once I hear the methodologies and strategies, I realize quickly it’s “Total Bull” and if say the client doesn’t hire me – two things generally happen. One, I never hear from them again only to one day hear they aren’t in business anymore (tragically happened a few times) or two – they come back back to me getting no where and quite apologetic ready to get into it.

Innocent people get hurt in this process and what’s interesting is that the suspect / criminal who did the ripping off usually takes a massive hit to their reputation. Some of the bigger ones are still going, however the “Smaller Con Artists” usually don’t last which is not only karma – it’s just great.

The good news from all this? The awesomely ethical providers like you and me make it. We take our time, pick up great clients, do great work and people come in with the “True” expectations so they are happy with the results they get.

My view is that when it comes to marketing it’s great to always “Under Promise” and “Over Deliver”. It keeps you 100% clean and everyone happy. Don’t worry if you don’t get “Everyone” – there will always be the snake oil salesmen regardless of industry.

The Profitable Importance of Open Defiance Against Those Who Suck!

Resisting oppression and open defiance is not always easy - but it's crtical to succeed in business! The Mad Max team knows all about this...

Resisting oppression and open defiance is not always easy – but it’s crtical to succeed in business! The Mad Max team knows all about this…

Hello Awesome People!

Have you seen Mad Max: Fury Road? If you haven’t, it’s one awesome film and I highly suggest it. Without blowing the plot, it’s a theme of people struggling against ridiculous odds because what is “Right” is more important than their own “Survival”.

This inspired me to look at the topic of “Defiance” in a business sense.

If I have learned anything about Success, Running a Business & Entrepreneurship over the last few years, it’s the importance of being Defiant against those who “Suck”.  People who “Suck” are defined for the purposes of this blog as someone who basically is trying to take advantage of you in an underbelly & unethical manner that will lead to your overall disadvantage.

My most major wins in my business have come as a direct result of defiance of someone in one form or another.

Taking this further – some of my largest mistakes have come from the opposite. This included listening to people “I knew” were taking advantage of me, but I thought I would because I wanted to be “Nice” or I was too “Scared” or something like that. I remember some great examples of me being defiant and resisting those who were pushing me around – all leading to massively profitable & successful outcomes for me and also protection of others.

One time I had a partner who didn’t like me being a “Christian” and ultimately left me because of it in that I wouldn’t change my beliefs for them. Okay! That one was hard, it tested my resolve but I stuck to my guns.

My advice & thinking? Be yourself, be intelligent and be defiant! You won’t always be in positions where you can speak your mind and you must bite your tongue, but don’t let anyone control the way you should think like I had many people try it on me. Be kind, be ethical, use your own mind and if someone is pushing you around – resist, defy, stop them and move away from them (as much as you can).

The most successful people I know have countless stories of this nature! It can be sometimes be really hard (it wasn’t easy for our protagonists in Mad Max: Fury Road) but boy it’s worth it. And your bank account shall love you!

Strange Yet Effective Marketing Concepts and the “Quest” for Eyeballs & Media Attention!

Anyone hungry for a "Pulled Beef" Pizza? I am glad I am a Vegetarian lol

Anyone hungry for a “Pulled Beef” Pizza? I am glad I am a Vegetarian lol

Hello Awesome People!

After a great day bushing walking with my special person, our cat (yes we took our cat on a leash) and getting some great fitness and bonding time in – we finished the day incredibly satisfied and equally hungry.

“Pizza” became the desired food to recharge our depleted sugar reserves and what is better than a cheap Domino’s Pizza? We stopped, grabbed our cat in his kitty carrier and then walked in.

Without thinking any sick thoughts, I was just being “Normal” thinking what anyone would on a Saturday night who is hungry and spending time with their loved ones.

As I walked up, I saw the most strangest message on a Domino’s Promotional Artwork that included:

– Argentinian Pulled Beef

– Fully Loaded

– Slow Cooked Pulled Beef

Until tonight I had never heard of Pulled Beef in my life – then all of a sudden I am confronted with a quite out in the open poster. After checking my sanity and putting it up on Facebook, it wasn’t before long that people confirmed that they had similar reactions and the like.

Isn’t this awesome marketing? Sure it was innuendo, but whoever came up with this concept is a total genius. It grabbed attention, it worked and even it inspired me to write about it and share it on my blog and Facebook.

Of course innuendo and this approach doesn’t suit every business, BUT this is a great example of creative marketing. It grabs attention, suits the quirky humour of the concept and I think is a great way of selling Pizza and getting a giggle at the same time.

In my own business, it has even inspired me to think of something “Way More Clever” to really drive patronage to my website and get some awesome attention.

My own advice & thinking from this one? This concept just rocks and it’s inspired me to be extra creative in what I am doing. Think about your own marketing too! What concept can you come up with that will just rock, get noticed and cut through all the clutter out there? Think of some great words, questions or ideas that will just make you stand out and rock.

The Slow and Very Profitable Wave of Success, Results and Awesome Referrals!

It takes time to get the stream of clients and success coming ones way - but once you do it rocks!

It takes time to get the stream of clients and success coming ones way – but once you do it rocks! (Image Credit: Bethesda Softworks)

Hello Awesome People!

I get asked all the time a very potent question (that is very valid) which goes basically something like this:

“Edward, how long does it take to get successful and get tons of results & new clients from my Marketing?”

In many cases, many of my clients usually get bites after 2 – 3 months, results at about 3 – 6 months with the really consistent awesome clients having almost “Endless Waves” of clients coming to them say 6 – 12 months on. This can be shorter or longer based on many factors (e.g. the business owners input, business type and their existing reputation) and some people honestly don’t like hearing this type of answer.

At times I have even tragically had people consider hiring me, I tell them this truth, they think it’s too long, listen to a “Snake Oil Salesman” who promises them clients tomorrow – only to pay thousands of dollars to learn something that gets them nowhere.

Even more tragically, I know at least 6 that have lost their business because of bad advice they have been given (usually based on borderline illegal “Get Rich Quick” type of dodgy thinking).

The true reality is that it can be quite a process to really get sustainable results in terms of plenty of high value clients and growth once one starts effectively Marketing their business.  At the start, it usually takes tons of getting one’s name and services out there again and again – until the message finally breaks through to the market and people start listening (let alone start buying).

What I have found happen over the years is that the start can be very difficult. There can be lots of marketing action, very “Little” in terms of tangible results and say at the 3 to 6 month mark work starts coming it. Once they have been strong marketers for about 6 months – small business owners can get very busy very quickly often going to the other extreme being their Marketing is working “To Well” and delivering the Product / Service can be a challenge (especially keeping up with high value clients who have demands for solutions in a given time frame).

The great news of all this is once one has a great reputation, is well known with a base of clients – provided that there is a great quality of service, business growth can occur very quickly with a consistent wave of new clients engaging them. It can be a result of really effective marketing and also strong word of mouth with clients referring friends & colleagues.

My advice & lesson from this? In short, starting out is hard – but once you “Crack It” things become much easier and more enjoyable. The more one is conscious and accepting of the reality in how long it takes to get started – life becomes easier. By being ready for a “Long-Haul” it makes everything more fun and achievable. Once the “Wave” of work is coming – it’s a very pleasant form of satisfaction indeed!

Hello Awesome People!

Through a very special person I was quite lucky to make friends with an awesome character by the same of Lisa Stewart. At a social event we instantly connected, exchanged some witty anecdotes, connected on Facebook and as you know “The Rest is History”.

As I followed Lisa, I watched her get involved in Amateur Theatre and I in watching some of her posts she reminded me about some of the things I have gone through. She talked about the nerves and preparation of going on stage – and it reminded me of me.

When we run our own free events (such as the Profitable Marketing Forum) it’s the same for me! It’s not so much me acting, but me getting ready and overcoming nerves to deliver a super compelling event.

I had to invite her to guest blog and she told her own story in a compelling way. Enjoy!

A Day in the Life…of Amateur Theatre (Guest Blog by Lisa Stewart):

Have you ever asked the questions:
• Why are there so many bobby pins in my pocket?
• What gets spirit gum off denim?
• Where did these carpet burns/bruises/rope burns come from?
• Do you know where I can get a huge medicine bag on wheels in the next 5 days? You know, like a Mary Poppins bag but on wheels? No, I’m not insane. Please don’t hang up…

No? Then you’ve probably never done amateur theatre. You may think from the above that this is a good thing, but actually there’s a certain magic to the sense of community that is created by the shared understanding of the need to ask such questions (and many more).

I mean, sure, the other day when I shouted, “EVERYONE PLEASE STAND STILL! LINDSAY IS COMING THROUGH WITH WET HEADS!”* I did surreptitiously glance around the perimeters of the church where FAMS** was holding our third pre-show working bee to make sure there weren’t any concerned citizens hovering…but really, any publicity is good publicity 😉

I’ve only been back into theatre for the past 18 months (before that it was just high school shows I’d been involved in, years earlier), but I have to say I’m completely hooked at this point. Life is a funny thing – this has all come about almost ‘by accident’ for me…and a happy accident it is for sure.

I decided to take up singing again after a bit of a break, and my vocal coach asked me one day if I’d be interested in auditioning for a role in a show she was involved in – ‘The Yeomen of the Guard’, a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta. I hadn’t previously sung in that style, but I figured she knew my voice well enough to know whether or not I could do it, so I agreed to audition and was subsequently cast as Elsie – a role I will always treasure (‘they’ do say you always remember your first ;)).

I don’t really have words to describe the giddy thrill of being on stage…so much work goes on in the lead-up to a show – the blood, sweat, tears (often literally, on all counts) of all involved – but when the orchestra begins to play the Overture on Opening Night and then the curtain rises…everything just clicks into place. The audience is the missing piece of the puzzle – those wonderful people who have invested enough faith in us to come along and see us perform are the final ingredient in cooking up a show, and giving them something they enjoy seeing is the only thing that matters from that moment until the curtain calls on Closing Night.

The bond among the cast is one of the things which really consolidates my love of this #TheatreLife – I made many new friends doing ‘Yeomen’, and we became like a family during our time on stage together, and in the lead-up…the lead-up often being referred to as ‘Tech Week’ (AKA Goodbye, everyone else I’ve ever known and everything else I’ve ever done; time to get this show on the road…so to speak).

Once I finished with ‘Yeomen’, my ‘Leading Man’ explained to me ‘Post Show Blues’…for which the only cure is another show! I decided to join the chorus of the next show he was doing, which was ‘H.M.S. Pinafore’ – another Gilbert and Sullivan operetta. Through that show I made more lifelong friends – it was an absolute blast. From there I went on to play the Queen of the Fairies in a Christmas pantomime, which was just so much fun. During that run, an opportunity arose to audition for a role in ‘King Lear’…I went along to audition, not thinking I had much of a chance, but suddenly I found myself cast as Goneril, Lear’s eldest (and arguably most evil) daughter – a bit of a change of pace from the benevolent Fairy Queen, Eglantine, but I enjoyed the challenge!

Right now I’m consumed by preparing for dual roles in a double bill of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas ‘The Sorcerer’ and ‘Trial By Jury’. The roles of Aline and Angelina are both proving challenging but very rewarding, and I can’t wait to get out there and feel the magic again!

Aside from being a fun creative outlet (essential, in my opinion, in the struggle for work-life balance in this busy world), getting into theatre has taught me a lot about marketing myself, the theatre companies I’m involved with, and the arts in general.

It has helped my confidence immensely, which has a flow-on effect into my everyday life in both work and play. I’ve picked up so many valuable skills I take with me into other areas of life, and I’ve realised that I was able to pick up on an old dream which I’d thought I’d have to let go of after a certain age – as with most things, you can if you believe you can! So if there’s a dream or goal from your younger days you think has passed you by, if there’s a passion you’re harbouring for some awesome endeavour you’re not sure you’re good enough for, if there’s something you wish you were doing with your life that you’re not…my advice is to just get out there and give it a go; it’s amazing what we can do when we set our minds to something!

Edward’s Post Blog Commentary:

Lisa’s one cool operator and I love her article and the big point she made. Even though she may be doing community theatre more from a personal / fun viewpoint – it’s giving great skills in confidence and obviously presenting on stage. For me, presenting on stage is one critical & profitable ability to have and it shows there are many ways of developing such areas.

My thinking and lesson from this one? Doesn’t matter how you do it – many ways to develop oneself in fun & style.

Automating Your Business, Your Marketing and Your Life! (Part II)

Brilliant, Kind, Considerate and Gets Automation - Eli Huang is a Natural Health Therpaist who will be using her skills for good in exposing those 'Pharmaceutical Companies!'

Brilliant, Kind, Considerate and Gets Automation – Eli Huang is a Natural Health Therpaist who will be using her skills for good in exposing those ‘Pharmaceutical Companies!’

Hello Awesome People!

When one succeeds and gets some serious traction in the marketplace, it doesn’t take long till you are busy and overloaded.  This happened to me a good year or two ago and the only way I could get growth again was through Automation, Growth and Improvements in my business.

Even though I have always been an advocate and leading by example with Leverage & Automation, it wasn’t until recently meeting an amazing Business Automation Specialist and VA Leader by the name of Kristy Smith that put me into overdrive here.

Kristy really reinforced some great ideas when I wrote about her previously in that you can basically work 80 hours a week for 200 years and if you don’t have processes / people working underneath you, “One shall be limited in their growth”.

Following on from that and increasing my own priority of automation in my own business has been awesome from many viewpoints. Firstly, it allows me to deliver more value to my clients & secondly – it earns more money in a sustainable manner.

Digging that little bit deeper into this topic was meeting with the awesome Natural Health Expert & “Pharmaceutical Company Critic” Eli Huang. She is a powerful, dynamic, integrity driven and incredibly considerate practitioner who owns several Acupuncture & Beauty Clinics who is going hard with the automation & leverage too.

Eli is incredible at what she does, is in heavy demand and has little time on her hands right now. Like Kristy & Myself, her life is going through the awesome transition of creating systems, people & processes that help people beyond her own physical ability of time for money. It’s very interesting to watch and one amazing credit to give her is how she just “Gets It”.

Many people can just focus on “Oh it costs money and I must do it all myself”.  This thinking is maybe okay for a short while, but once you are busy – this approach collapses very quickly. Unless you are willing to invest in say staff, outsourcing, processes or the like – you can very quickly end up losing more money out of opportunity loss that you would have spent paying someone to help you expand. Kristy Smith is great from a business automation viewpoint where a “Crazy Persian” like myself is great from the Marketing & Business Growth viewpoint.

Bringing it back to Eli, Kristy & the like – they get it. Automation, Leverage & Expansion are key concepts that work beautifully when implemented and correctly.

My advice & thinking? Get your business stable, healthy & rocking – then invest in processes to expand. You will love it and it shall give more to your clients.

Birthday Reflections: The Dangers of being “Average” and Payoff of being Awesome!

Being 'Awesome' involves being different and not everyone will like that. But some people so will!

Being ‘Awesome’ involves being different and not everyone will like that. But some people so will!

Hello Awesome People!

It’s been an amazing Birthday for me. At the “Young” age of 37 I have been blessed with a very special person in my life, a new start for me, hundreds of kind Birthday messages and I pinch myself for the luck I have in my life these days.

In all of this, it has me reflecting on my life today and my life yesterday. To be straight up with you, I have really wasted some big parts of my life. I don’t just mean “Going Broke” when I was 29, 30 – it was before that. It was all the times where I would second guess myself, hang out with people pulling me back or worse – not push my own potential because I was “Worried” of what other people would think.

As I enjoyed my birthday today, I actually went through a wide range of emotions. Ones from pure joy of planning my future with someone special and also moments of disappointment and frustration. The negative emotions were not directed at me today (in fact, I am pretty happy with my performance today) – but it was more regret and remorse for the days of me “Being Average”.

Here is the consensus and reality I have come to in my own understanding of this topic. If you are “In Line” with everyone else, doing what you are told and not doing anything different – why would you get more of a result than anyone else? It’s really unlikely that you will and the truth of the matter is that if you aren’t playing a different more profitable game to everyone else around you, it’s very illogical to expect anything more than them.

When I started my business 3 to 4 years ago I was thinking on different lines and at the start of the year – I really started standing out with my own thinking. Some people really didn’t like that and tried to take me down (they failed which is awesome) and for me – the more I stand out with my own thinking the better I become.

In short discussing my mistake, why was I average and got nothing? It was because I did what some other people wanted me to do. Their destructive guidance resulted in me losing some years of my life which it wasn’t till much later I woke up too.

My advice and thinking? If you are reading this article and *you know* you have been guilty of what I have done, now is the time to start pushing yourself in a new direction. Get out of your comfort zone, push yourself harder and talking Marketing – come up with a strong compelling message and go hard with it.

7 x Leveraged & Automated Online Marketing Insights from Trusted Web Expert Martha Arifin

Intelligent, Brilliant and Understands 'Leverage & Automation' - Martha Arifin from Trusted Web Expert has some great insights for all!

Intelligent, Brilliant and Understands ‘Leverage & Automation’ – Martha Arifin from Trusted Web Expert has some great insights for all!

Hello Awesome People!

Leveraged & Automated Marketing are common terms I have heard used in the market since I have been in business. You would hear people saying “Oh you need to Automate & Use Leverage” and the like which sounds really good on the surface.

As I peeled back the layers of the onion and spoke to people who were so called “Experts” in this area, I found them to be of very little substance. When I would turn around and ask about these topics, there would also be very vague answers of little value. They would include “Oh do Workshops” or “Oh do an Online Product”. When I asked how, it would be “Well, just hire someone”.

Basically, they were nonsensical answers and over the years I was lucky to explore these topics myself. I have met several experts that I claim rock in this area – the Awesome Kristy Smith (from Virtual Elves) and from an Online / Technical Viewpoint Martha Arifin.  We both did a shared webinar tonight titled “Automated Marketing Strategies for an Endless Stream of High Value Clients” and she gave some great tips & insights I would like to share with you:

1) Setup Cost & Time: This is a great one in that regardless of what Leverage or Automation you do there is a setup cost. Be it time or money – be ready to do it. Setting up Mailchimp is obviously cheap and easy with say a website being a lot of work. great to consider this.

2) The Concept of Leverage: This is more about amplification. That is, say you do an event to 30 x people and get better use of your time. This is the logic of “One to Many”. A great example of this is a Live Webinar.

3) The Concept of Automation: This is where you have resources working for you without any additional input. A great example of this is recording that above Webinar and sharing it with Key People.

4) Use your Social Media Wisely: If you have say content you wish to share, you can share it quite easily (with thousands for at times only $10) and get one amazing and impressive result. Once you have the content, you can get great “Leverage” and “Automate” its exposure with ease.

5) Email Marketing with Autoresponders: This works just great and Mailchimp is one outstanding platform. You can send emails to groups of people and even set it up to go out automatically in auto-responders and the like (i.e. so without any intervention people get your key messages).

6) Blogging: My personal favourite! Using key articles to spread your message.

7) The Website & Integration: It all starts with a great website! It’s your foundation for effective marketing in that you want to bring back people to a compelling online experience. This way they know you are quality.

My advice and learnings? After working with Martha tonight it’s reminded me of a few very important concepts. Firstly, get your business right before you automate it. Secondly, understand the cost and time and do a bit of it at a time.

For me personally it’s quite a journey and “Getting There” which is great!

Hello Awesome People!

Being Knighted into the “Order of St. John” yesterday was one Awesome thing that I am still Buzzing about. I know there is some very Amazingly Charitable hard work (yet rewarding and helpful to everyone) to come. I was also Excited to find out that Mother Teresa was part of this Order.

On another note, recently and not uncommonly, some of my Awesome friends, have been Subjected to the certain Attacks and Deceitful Behaviour, which I also have (as I am sure you) Experienced as well. Stories such as one who mentioned a sad Story about Personal Back-Stabbing of someone whom they have Helped and Assisted in getting their Business up and Running.

Another had been Led by a big Client into working for Nothing for 3 months for a big “Cheque” which never Arrived, (Also known as Stealing) which then almost put them out of Business. This most discerning Story was one with a Trusted Staff Member who Started their Own Business whilst taking lots of my “A-Level”old clients with them. It is always good to know that there are actually Procedures to Protect yourself and Prevent any of the Above Situations from happening, which Suits your Business.

This Experience can be Hurtful and Horrible, and it can be very Distressful to the Party Involved. In other cases, sometimes the Effects of being taken Advantage of by a Client can really upset a Business Owner so much – it was the “Last Straw” that caused her to finish up her business. Furthermore, you never know what other People’s true back Story is, they might be Displaying a Confident and Brave Face to the general Public, you never know if Someone might be Struggling with any Mental Illness such as Depression, Anxiety, Bi-Polar and Dyslexia, etc.

Often hearing stories like this makes me feel sad. And the Reality is that there are “Good Samaritans” out there Helping people and there are “Bandits” too with some Pure Evil taking whatever they can for their own cause. Bringing it back to some great thinking, I heard from the “Order of St. John” yesterday was the back story in the Establishment behind our Legal System.

Historically, our Legal System was built on the Christian Principles with Courts, Juries, Codes of Conduct, Appeals. All these Systems to provide Fairness and Justice, Discipline / Punish the Bad & Protect the good – yet also it with an Element of Forgiveness Built into it. People can Pay their fines and “Do their time” to show their Understanding of their Wrong doing to show that, and are then given a Fresh Start and New Beginnings.

Bringing it back to our Businesses, marketing and the like – all of us who are Successful, have had to go through the Process of Learning through such Experiences, whether it’d be bad, wrong or unfair, and arguably evil. We have the Right to Defend Ourselves, have Preventative Procedures in place, do what we need to do for the Time and Intellectual Property you have provide in Exchange for the Agreed Value, move on the Bad Partner (or whatever) but then I think, quoting Frozen we have to “Let it go”. And remember, as George W Bush tried to say: “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me…” Once you have Protected yourself / taken Justice – you simply need to let it go, move on and keep being Awesome.

My thinking and learning’s on this one? Forgiveness is not always Necessarily giving that person another Chance, it’s more not Holding a Case Against Them. Protect your Assets First, then just “Let it Go!”.

Hello awesome People!

Yes, I am trying to be clever and write in some “Generation Y’s” view of old English. I don’t think I make any sense at all, but what I can tell you is that I have had one one Life Changing Awesome Day that has made me reflect on the bumpy road of how I have made it here.

This blog is quite the Departure from my normal Marketing topics. I wanted to share my own story with you and hope it Stimulates some Great Thoughts and Ideas to help you kick butt in your own Unique way.

I am very Honoured to have been Knighted into the “Order of Saint John of Jerusalem Knights Hospitaller“. This is an order that dates right back to the Crusades and Today, is a Charity group that Mother Theresa was a Member of (which I think is Totally Awesome). For years I have been involved in Charity of my own Accord and some Amazing people in the “NSW Priory” invited me to join the order.

This has marked a very New Chapter in my Life – and bringing it back to the Awesome People reading this blog right now (you), thank you so much for all your Continual Support, I really Appreciate it. About last year I was getting quite bothered by some things that were going down in the world. People being pushed around, the silent middle class being Ignored and Trampled on by the Interests of the few and I was actually looking to a new Direction in my Life.

Looking back to the Beginning of this Year I found myself to be quite Alone. And as I was doing some Research on the “Knight’s Templar UK”, I thought these guys were Awesome. While I was spending lots of time on my Own, a Great Colleague invited me to visit an Order of St. John Event. When I found out the Nature and as I Learnt more about the Story behind the Organisation; how it is purely based on Charity, Fundraising, Helping People in Need. It was so very Inspiring, and I was Immediately Drawn to it, so I instantly Grabbed onto this Opportunity with Both Hands.

I have had quite a rough year in the past year or so, and Especially at the start of this year, but Lately it has been Rocking. I knew after a Rough 2014, 2015 would have to be Great. I knew deep down that “Somehow” New and Amazing Opportunities would come up, and that I was ready to take them on. I patiently waited, kept Active and kept an eye out for the Times when Great Experiences and People would come Along. Every time an Opportunity to Improve my life came along, I would “Pounce” on it as Quickly as Possible. This Mind Set turned out to be some Solid thinking on my part in Terms getting New and Awesome Clients, meeting that Someone Special to cure my Loneliness and gain Support, but also in becoming part of Cool and Elite Communities such as the Order of Saint John.

My advice and lessons from all this? You just don’t know who you are going to Meet, and the Great things that will Come your way. Sure bad things do happen, but Equally Great People and Events will come past, and you have to be ready to jump on them. For me, I may have been unlucky in the past, but it seems to had happen to make way for the better -If you look at my life now, it’s Totally Awesome and many are in Disbelief as to how it all happened.

The “Man / Woman Upstairs” is Definitely Looking after me, and today has been a Greatly Overwhelming and Culmination of many Lessons for me. You shall never know which Awesome people shall come your way, so make sure to be ready to take the Right Course of Action.

I appreciate you being one of the great supporters helping me get there. Stay tuned and who knows what is going to come from me?

Hello Awesome People!

I had a very Interesting Experience a few weeks ago. I was Working away, and I Received a Referral for a new Potential Client. We Communicated a bit over Email and then we Organized to speak over the Phone and take it further from there.

During the start of the call, the Reception was really bad and I had Misunderstood part of what that person had said. Out of nowhere, he said “Oh don’t you Mess me around Ed” and then started yelling “Don’t know you know what I do?”

It was quite a Funny Experience, it was totally Uncalled for. I was totally shocked at his Reaction, and a bit taken back.

After this person realized I was shocked (and I think started questioning their own Behaviour) he decided to be a bit “Nicer” to me, he wanted to work with me, yet it just didn’t feel right. I felt the need to think it over for a few hours, decided that I just did not feel Comfortable about our Initial Conversation. I then touched base later on to say “Thank you, but I am not sure if we are the best fit” (strangely, he became more Persistent in wanting to work together, and even though I declined it in the end, his final reply was that he would call me back later down the track?).

It was somewhat the Strangest Experience I have had, and the Total Opposite to the heading of this blog. After being yelled at, I thought “Wow – to do that for no reason whatsoever on our very First Conversation, what would it be like, to bring this Client on?”. I am glad that I was able to “Call Out” this Behaviour from the get go, and be in the Right Mind Set to Decline taking on something that had teh Potential of Developing into a Disastrous and Negative Experience. Sometimes, if your Gut tells you something doesn’t Feel Right, its a good Idea to Follow your Instinct.

This Incident has made me think about how Lucky I am to have the Awesome People I Currently have in my Business and Personal Life.  And I’d like to think that I have the ability to keep that going and keeping Choosing the Right kind of People and Clients that I feel Comfortable and Love working with for as long as I possibly can. And if anything, I’d like to keep Improving on my new Clientele in the Future.

My life Rocks now because of the People I am Surrounded by and through this Negative Experience, it Really made me Realise how Thankful I am about some of my Awesome Clients who lives might not be the best Right Now, yet have been Pleasant to work with and have a Positive Outlook.

Putting aside Marketing and all that – one key Reason that things aren’t going great for someone, could well be due to certain Negative People , which they have allowed into their lives. Be it their Family Members or Clients who aren’t being Supportive or Treating them well or with the Respect that they Deserve, hats off to them for Soldiering on. However, there comes a time in one’s Life, the only way to Improve your Circumstances is to Stand Up for Yourself, “Call Out” anything that is making you Unhappy. At least both Parties will be on the same page, and with a Mutual understanding, hopefully Something can be done to Improve the Situation.

My lessons and advice? From my own painful Lessons and Experiences Listening to other’s Struggles, there are two Key things I have picked up. 1) Be a person who Appreciates others for who they are, and 2) Surround yourself with people who Appreciate you. If you get those two things right, this will open many doors to great things.

Who you hang out with makes a Huge Difference in your Life, and now bringing it back to Marketing – Awesome friends will Honestly and Truely, Love, Support and Promote you. It will not only Improve your Personal Growth, it will also be a Very Profitable thing to do.
