The Importance of Brilliant Quality: Your Best Marketing Strategy Ever!

Top Quality in Business is the Best Marketing Strategy Ever! As I hit wineries today with amazing colleagues such as Sharon and Drina, it got me reflecting on this topic. Quality is your best marketing strategy!

Top Quality in Business is the Best Marketing Strategy Ever! As I hit wineries today with amazing colleagues such as Sharon and Drina, it got me reflecting on this topic. Quality is your best marketing strategy!

“You must have good quality” were some powerhouse words given to me by a wealthy entrepreneur when once upon a time I started out as a Young Marketing Manager.  As I went through my Career as a Corporate, I totally hated when I worked for companies that had Poor to Average Quality – but then spent all their time and money on pretending it’s the best thing ever.

When you oversell something – sure, it may get results in the first few months, but after people try a given product / service – if it doesn’t work or stack up then pow – that’s it as there is no good worth of mouth and it gets harder and harder to get more sign ups.

The massive solution to this is “Top Quality” in everything that you do.  I cover this theme in my Online Course “The Awesome Marketing Vault” – Instant Access right here! x x

Today I had a great day with Cindy Reid and Daniel Doherty – attending a wine tour that Cindy organized near Wollongong (Regional NSW).  I generally am not the sort of fellow to take a lot of time off and going on this trip was some happy times for me.  A group of us on a bus and we were visiting great wineries for some fine tasting (and I did some great business too on the tour).

Putting on my Marketing / Business Hat, as you go to wineries I saw varying degrees of wineries, their unique approaches and ultimately experienced how they were trying to get product sales during the event.  All the wineries were great picks with top quality wines.

What came down to the deciding factor I felt was the “Quality of the Experience” each of us had.  One Winery was more of a Tin Shed with “Okay” facilities.  Another winery was very premium with the Wine Maker giving amazing dialogue and another had a great view, well dressed staff – but there wasn’t much of an opportunity to learn about the potential wines we were purchasing.

Certainly in my mind (and I bet most of my friends on the Wine Tour) the winner was probably the Winery with the Great Facilities, Great Wine and the Great Tour.  If I was going to buy anything today, it would have been from that Winery.

Why? It was amazing quality.  Not just the bottle of what I was drinking but also the whole experience from start to finish.  As it was the best quality, that is great Marketing in itself.  You can say whatever you like about a product, but people are awesome and intelligent.  Everyone has great radars for BS and commonly do all their checks before making purchase decisions these days.

The critical importance to many businesses is quality from start to finish.  Let’s say you are a Coach, Mentor or Consultant delivering quite an intangible product.  From your Business Cards, to the Way you are Dressed to the Wisdom that comes out of your mouth – you want 100% quality to come out.  The great experience you deliver will serve you 10 x Fold in getting someone speaking highly of your quality and referring more and more clients to you.

In fact, speaking of fine quality x x Make sure you Get Instant Access to my Online Course “The Awesome Marketing Vault”.  This is just perfect for Small Business Owners wanting to learn top Sales & Marketing Strategies to build bigger awesome businesses.

So go for quality! People love it and it’s one of the best “Marketing Strategies” out there!

100% Awesome Conviction, Confidence and Backing Of Yourself: The Only Way to Live

Totally People Awesome Like You Reading My Blog so deserve One Hundred Percent Belief in yourself to feel Awesome and Do Business Your Way In Style. Your Way!

Totally People Awesome Like You Reading My Blog so deserve One Hundred Percent Belief in yourself to feel Awesome and Do Business Your Way In Style. Your Way!

I have spent a great deal of my life living in fear.  Living in fear of “A” happening at “B” time, making mistakes, looking silly and desperate for many years to win the approval of everyone (which is just totally impossible and a great way of keeping yourself poor!).

As I have grown in my own business success and helped thousands of people worldwide with their Marketing & Sales Success – I have learnt from some of my brilliant United Kingdom Colleagues the critical importance of 100% Conviction and belief in yourself.

I love Small Business Sales & Marketing (and feel free to check out my Online Course, “The Awesome Marketing Vault” right here) and Business Mindset that is a key part of this.  Strategy is important, but as we are often our entire workforce – we need to be mentally “In the Zone” so we deliver.

In the past few weeks with the great help of my friends Stefan Thomas, Brad Burton and Terry Cooper of 4Networking Fame, the really supported me into going from say believing in myself at a “So-So” 80%, right through to 100% Conviction.

What this means in functional terms is that I am not some arrogant guy who runs around saying that he knows everything.  In fact, I still make mistakes, feel down and am very human.  However, instead of not fully supporting myself and always holding back – I NOW HIT WITH EVERYTHING I HAVE.

I have intentionally removed piece by piece the negative junk holding me back and replaced it with constructive driven thoughts.  How did I do this? It’s actually quite simple:

– I have listened to my thoughts, ceased negative / nonconstructive thoughts and replaced them with Awesome / Profitable and Supportive thinking.

So let’s say I miss out on a sale.  I don’t say anymore “You suck Ed and you won’t get another one.”  I now say “Good shot Edward, you need more clients so time to push harder and enjoy it”.  In other words, I am not sitting there watching “The Secret” wishing for my life to work.  I am loving myself more and pushing things to work!

My advice? Don’t be positive or negative to yourself.  Be factual and constructive.  Take control of that little voice in your head and let’s say you are only 40% confident in yourself.  Start building yourself 1% every day.  60 days later your emotions will rock and I bet your behaviours have improved putting you in the better place to kick butt and improve your situation.

And what better way to help you with your new mindset? Get My Online Course the Awesome Marketing Vault.  You will so love it, so buy it now for instant access x x (I so love getting that sell in!).

Thank you for the great read fine friend and keep up the great work out there!

Can Selling Success Just Be Picking Up The Phone?

The Phone is Powerful! Beyond me taking Selfies of Myself to Post on Facebook, Simple Calls and Following up is one of the most powerful Sales Tools!

The Phone is Powerful! Beyond me taking Selfies of Myself to Post on Facebook, Simple Calls and Following up is one of the most powerful Sales Tools!

In many instances YES.  Talking about my own Small Business Management and Marketing Adventures – I remember that when I started out I was very shy of picking up the phone, let alone even asking for the sale.

I am the first person to say that Online Marketing, Facebook, LinkedIn, Blogging, Having Pretty Websites, Nice Business Cards and the like are all important components of helping someone build a Brilliant and Profitable Business.  I talk about this in my Fab Online Course “The Awesome Marketing Vault” so click here to learn more!

BUT all too of often many otherwise successful Entrepreneurs can fall into the trap of hiding about this and not actually selling.  If you think about it, everything is Online these days and this is good for us.  People aren’t anywhere near as good on the phone anymore and Face to Face Selling in some parts of the world is becoming a dying art.

So what better way to get More Business and Profitable Clients! Yes, picking up the phone and speaking to people considering your services, following up quotes, telling people about why you are brilliant and of course asking for the sale can put us outside of our comfort zones.  However, here is my business case for why the Phone can often be far more effective than just emailing people:

1) It Works Better: You are conveying more information and people take more notice, so you conversion rate will go up.

2) It Can Be Faster Than Writing a Silly Email: Just call people up to discuss things.

3) People Appreciate It: Makes people feel better and that you care.

4) Questions get Answered in Real Time: No messing about, answer complex questions on the spot and get your sale in faster.

5) Just Try it: Seriously Just Try It.

Since using the Phone more in my own business my Sales Success just Skyrocketed.  I have recommended this strategy to hundreds of people too and they love it.  Sure, it may take some getting used to, but please: use the phone more and sell for maximum success!

Personal Selling is one of my Core Small Business Marketing Strategies, so if you want more Awesome Goodness click right here to get Instant Access to my Awesome Marketing Vault!

Hope things are rocking for you and keep up the fine work.

Chris Waters - Mild Mannered, Soft Spoken and Brilliant. This Fellow always asks me through provoking type of questions and inspires some fine blog posts!

Chris Waters – Mild Mannered, Soft Spoken and Brilliant. This Fellow always asks me through provoking questions and inspires some fine blog posts!

Being my first day back after an amazing Business Trip, I was very lucky to meet the Technically Brilliant and Good-Natured Chris Waters (from Watershed Creative) this morning.

I have known Chris for several years in the Sydney Business Scene, introduced him to many people and seen some of his great quality work first hand.  During our discussion today, he asked one brilliant question that not only inspired me writing this article – but stirred up emotions I have felt personally in my business previously.

Like I reference in my Online Course, “The Awesome Marketing Vault” – in Small Business Marketing one can be very quickly overwhelmed in the many options one has to Market their own business.

Chris asked a very prominent common question:

“With all these opportunities out there, how do I judge what to do and get my work done?”

The reality is that we cannot Market 100% of the time (as we have work to do!) and there is no way many businesses can successfully do more than say 3 – 5 different strategies.  The way I originally trained myself how to better use my time and work out what to do next was to judge everything I did in my business in a scale of “1 to 10”.

That is, if say an action was pointless and destructive, I would rate it “1”.  If an action was say “5” it didn’t hurt me, but didn’t really help me either.  If an action was “10” it was brilliant, made me money and I was happy.

That is, when I was calibrating my “Commercial Brain” everything was about me gauging what is great to do and what I should try and avoid / minimize as much as possible.  Last year for example, I was spending time helping some people that really took advantage of me.  I spent hours helping these people, only to find they were laughing at me and when 2014 hit – I basically told them to either help me or move on.  As they finished using me, they moved on.  I was glad with that!

Chris on the other hand, working with him is a “10 / 10” type of experience, so I want more and more of that.  Another example is me Leading at 4Networking. It takes time, but I love it, it helps people and it makes me great money so why not?

My advice? Start questioning everything you are doing and give it score of 1 to 10 / 10 in terms of it’s Commercial Viability for you.  Then ask yourself “Why?” and make sure you aren’t having low value things / people suck your time and you can give the right things the love and attention they deserve.

I hope that helps and speaking of Love and Attention, I would soo love you to buy my Online Course “The Awesome Marketing Vault” – Instant Access and I put 10 / 10 love into it x x

Thank you to Chris Waters and thank you to to you for taking the time to read this.

The Importance of Health in Business: Yes, I am Talking To YOU!

It was tough staying healthy when I was working overseas for a few weeks but I did it overall. I even said no to Fookien Awesome Food at times!

It was tough staying healthy when I was working overseas for a few weeks but I did it overall. I even said no to Fookien Awesome Food at times!

This is a topic that many are going to say “Finally, I am so glad Edward is speaking this way”.  During my Life-Changing and Business-Enhancing Trip to the United Kingdom I learnt many amazing things that I am already augmenting my business with.

One important key area of was “The Importance of Health in Business”.  On the surface, I doubt very few would disagree with what I am saying here.  But if any of you are like I once was, I would predict that only say 20% of people reading this article can claim they are at “Full Health” and in the best physical condition they can be.  I am quite happy with myself these days, however when I started my business I was Overweight, Stressed Out and didn’t look good – and come on? Would anyone do business with anyone like that?

It was so true for me.  The moment I lost my weight and started looking / acting the part, my Sales Conversion went through the Roof!

For example, as I am healthy and confident I ask for the Sale More.  So make sure you check out my fine Online Course “The Awesome Marketing Vault” right here.  See I did it x x

Anyway going back to my argument and not selling you stuff for the moment (come on, it’s awesome though) consider the opposing argument.  I once met this really nice man at one of our Networking Events.  He was massive and I mean he would have weighed at least 110kg and been my height of 5′ 11″.  The problem I noticed that even in a room temperature of 20 degrees (68 Fahrenheit) he was sweating and the problem was that it was very hard to listen to his great message.  It wasn’t just me, most people in the room you could tell were having trouble emotionally connecting with him.

In this extreme case, the poor mans lack of health was what people noticed – and guess what? He didn’t sell much.  Even though this is extreme, the more out of health you are – the better you convince the person you are selling too you are not disciplined – which is bad for business.

My advice? Get healthy and if you need help then go and get it.  I had my friend & colleague Fiona Kane help me lose the 20kg (44 lbs) and got a Personal Trainer to get me going.

It won’t only set you up to make more money, it will make you feel more awesome and enjoy life.  After all, is that is why we are in business? To create an awesome life for us? Why not start now!

And of course, make sure you check out my Awesome Marketing Vault – got some great Small Business Tools in my fab Online Course (perfect to go along with your health kick x x – see I asked for the Sale again!).

Thank you for the read kind people and have a great day or night everyone to my Global Friends!

Closing of Chapters in Life and Reflections of the New

The Breakfast View from Pan Pacific Manila - my last supper on my big trip. The closing of this chapter has got me reflecting on the new!

The Breakfast View from Pan Pacific Manila – my last supper on my big trip. The closing of this chapter has got me reflecting on the new!

I have had an amazing Business Trip with many Low’s and High’s that have led to brilliant transformations in myself, my knowledge and understanding of the world.  It has cost me lots of money and time and it’s all been well worth it so I chalk this one up as one successful mission.

As I sit having my last breakfast at the conclusion of my trip in Manila, Philippines it has got me reflecting onto life in general and the many “Chapters” we have.  Negative or Positive – as I sound like an old Persian Man (of 35) it’s got me thinking as to the cycles in life and how all things start and finish.

I am not a massive fan of negative experiences, nor do I ask God for more of them right now – but in reflection all chapters of life have led to many greater things.

During my trip I got some compelling pieces of advice and from Leadership Coach Debbie Huxton she made this brilliant point of (in trying to paraphrase as best as I can):

– “Even the most painful experiences in life can lead to positive outcomes based on how you look at it”.

In looking back as to the closure of “Painful” chapters in my life, there have been most positive changes that have come from them.  Be it people moving on from me, several times losing my home and dealing with sickness – WITHOUT those experiences there is no way I would enjoy the quality of life I do today.

And talking to pleasurable chapters too, I have loved the Learning / Party element of my trip and I am looking forward to it coming to a close too.  Nobody can party forever and I am all pumped to getting back into the action in the Hustle and Bustle of Sydney, Australia.

My thinking and advice from all this? Life is all full of chapters and old ones finish, new ones open, some are painful, some are pleasurable – but when you guide the lessons you learn the right way, it leads to one compelling book.

Have a great day or night everyone! Time for me to get up and finish exploring Manila for one last time.

The Critical Importance of Always Selling! Always!

Now Cats understand the importance of selling all the time. Be it for attention or food - their meows always get what they want. Don't over do it like Terry and Lin Coopers cat of course (shown here).

Now Cats understand the importance of selling all the time. Be it for attention or food – their meows always get what they want. Don’t over do it like Terry and Lin Coopers cat of course (shown here).

All too often there are too many Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs that are not earning what they really deserve.  As I write this article I am in my Hotel Room in Manila and boy – these people know how to sell! A great lesson for me.

Even businesses with ‘Great Marketing’ can be undone very quickly if there isn’t enough selling to get people over the line.  What I mean is let’s say you have a Great Product, Awesome Business Cards, Email Marketing, You Blog all the time, You have a Promotion going etc – I have found that you often need that ‘Personal Touch’ to get them over the line (especially in Professional Services).

I talk plenty of Small Business Marketing and Selling in my Online Course ‘The Awesome Marketing Vault’. See how I just sold to you here? x x

What I am getting at in particular here is the importance of that ‘Invitation’ for people to do business with you.  Let’s say you sell Websites for a living – many people won’t volunteer to do business with you, you got to ask them first.

This is where many great people get themselves into trouble.  Fear of Rejection, Fear of Failure (as was for me) can often inhibit people asking for that sale.  I remember when my business was very marginal, I mastered how to sell for myself and boom – all of a sudden I had a stack of extra awesome clients that I totally love.

My advice to you in on this one is really overcome your fears right now and great success is often right in front of us.  As you go about Marketing your business, you should keep an eye out for people who really love you but are ‘just on that edge’ of hiring you.

In my case, it can often be a nice phone call inviting them to do business and then you get the Awesome ‘Yes!’.

So don’t be shy people! Go for it.  And in walking the talk, check out my Awesome Marketing Vault – 100% Guaranteed and you will love it.

Thank you for the fine read! Hope you enjoyed my active demonstration and don’t worry about people saying no too.  Just keep asking and doing the numbers and watch your probability of selling go through the roof!

The Reasons Why Only the Few Choose to Back Themselves 100%

A nice relaxing and calm walk on the streets of Manila has given me a great chance to work on my business mindset. Such a positive enviornment here x x

A nice relaxing and calm walk on the streets of Manila has given me a great chance to work on my business mindset. Such a positive enviornment here x x

Spending time resting and thinking this fine Sunday in Manila has got me thinking about many things in my life.  I have spent at least 4 hours touring some of the main parts of this Developing Asian City and seen many amazing and yet equally shocking things.

If you know me outside of this blog, I am always “On the Go” and a “Very Busy” type of person.  I always get stuff done and taking time off is not something I really do (and to be totally frank – I have trouble with).  As I have been walking around The Good, The Bad and the Ugly parts of these equally kind & mean streets – I have had lots of time with my own thoughts to reflect on my life and thinking.

Having a Positive, Proactive Business Mindset is something that is very important to me that I have always valued in not just advising clients, but also in my own life.  I go into Business Mindset quite a bit in my fine Online Course the Awesome Marketing Vault, and it’s an area that I find myself continually working on.

As per some great Entrepreneurial Advice from Brad Burton (the Creator of 4Networking) – I have been spending lots of time policing my thought and listening to my inner dialogue – as in that tape of almost “Automatic” thinking going over and over in our minds.  I have been getting sensitive to positive things I say to myself on autopilot (such as you rock Edward and keep up the great work) and purely mean things that I say to myself (such as you suck Edward, you are hopeless and no one wants you – just lovely stuff x x).

As I interrupt my nonconstructive, poorly justified negative thoughts with constructive positive ones – overtime I find myself believing in myself more and feeling better about my own ability and potential to kick butt in business and life.  The trick is to always be on guard and making sure you are only thinking Constructive thoughts – as you “Catch” your thinking going the wrong way, the more you knock it back in the right direction makes it just that 0.1% easier for next time.

My thinking and realizations from this experience is that so few totally back themselves and the few that do are continually:

1) Policing their own thoughts: Not always running on Autopilot and correcting nonconstructive thinking.

2) Pumping in Positive Messages: Our world has naturally more negative than positive messages out there, so it’s great to balance the score and make it a fair game for our subconscious minds.

3) Being a Critical and Independent Thinker: Even when I started my business, I had so many critics telling me that I am a dumb-ass and I would never make it.  Most of them are back at work-full time and I chose to ignore people that weren’t helping me.

4) Understanding what Mistakes really are: [Quoting the Awesome Brad Burton] We all make mistakes and a mistake is only a mistake after an event.  Each of us make perfect decisions and non of us make a decision hoping that we are going to BEEP up.  The first time it’s a mistake, which is great – the second time is a choice!

That wisdom I think is purely amazing and I finally understand the importance of 100% BACKING YOURSELF.  Only when we truly believe in what we are doing, do we do it with passion, contribution and really leading with awesome quality and performance = hence creating conditions where we are likely to make more money with happier clients!

My advice? Think about what you are thinking and constantly steer it in the direction that most best serves you and your objectives.  It makes it easier each time! And of course, for some Fine Small Business Marketing, Sales & Mindset – make sure you visit my Awesome Marketing Vault right here (I so love getting that one into my articles x x).

Have a great day or night everyone and it’s time for me to rest before emerging from the Pan Pacific Hotel in Manila to find me some nice food!

Business in the Real World: Strategies for Staying Focused When It’s All Crazy!

I had a crazy day and in these moments great people can help support your mindset. This Awesome Security Guard who kept giving me directions is my dedication of this article. Awesome people make you awesome!

I had a crazy day and in these moments great people can help support your mindset. This Awesome Security Guard who kept giving me directions is my dedication of this article. Awesome people make you awesome!

Saturday evening I sit in the Pan Pacific Hotel in Manila writing this article.  I am weary as I write it – but equally inspired from massive lows, highs and life changing experiences around me.

My Business Trip has been life changing on multiple levels.  I have been lucky to work with some leaders in their respective fields on one level and on another it’s been a massive Personal Development Gain with knowledge that just cannot be learned from Books and Study.

Manila has a population of 12 Million Plus People and is the Capital of Philippine’s – a very “Developing Nation Country”.  During my Business Trip basically going around the world I have had some some shocking times that have tested my “Business Mindset” out big time.  In my Online Course The Awesome Marketing Vault, I have a Section dedicated to Business Mindset too.  Sure, I teach Small Business Marketing – but this trip has totally reinforced to me the importance of having a clear mind and being able to focus your thoughts when things go against you.

So here is my release, I had to fly from London to Manila and by flying the “awesome airline” Emirates (which I used to love and this experience has tested my relationship with them) I had to go via Dubai.  My own flight was late and I barely made my plane.

That is, I was running like kid feeling police with a “Hot VCR” (if you know what that is, you are getting old like me) and saw the Final Boarding Call.  When I arrived in the very dilapidated Manila Airport, I knew there was no way my luggage was on there.

Basically, I had to line up for about 1 hour and the clothes that I have been travelling in I wore for a day of Jet-Lagged sight seeing around Manila.  A few people ripped me off too, I was really hot in my old clothes and part of me was going crazy.  The rational part of me knew it was temporary and I was carefully controlling my focus on the good things, the experience, the fun, the new things and the opportunity to travel like this.

Very much my brain was like a Dr. Jekyll vs. Mr. Hyde.  It was quite a neuron fire-fight and the more I controlled my focus, the better I was in coping with the situation.  I even had a great day, sure I got ripped off a bit – but I had a great time seeing the sights and even visited the Manila Pistol range and fired 41 x rounds (I have still got it in me – and like my old government days, I always drift low and to the left).

In a business context (as I was conjuring up writing this blog all day) it made me think about times where we can easily let our emotions get the better of us.  Say being Rejection, Afraid of where your next Sales are coming in, worried about how someone is going to react to you and how you are keeping up with all those wonderful bills coming in.

Brad Burton (the Managing Director of 4Networking) is one amazing operator and I got to spend some time with him.  He totally gets this point and his Mastery of this topic has been rubbing off on me big time.  “Police your thoughts”, “Control where they go”, “Whether you think you are going to fail or succeed is all made up anyway as it’s the future, so just think you are going to succeed and you will”.  It sounds very obvious, but this time I heard it I have really taken it to the next level to integrate it into my psyche.

The big revelation to me on this topic is that you have to keep pushing your thoughts the right way at times a bit like a Shopping Trolley on the loose. Sure, you may have a great Trolley at times – but when you don’t, you can still keep it going straight with conscious effort and strength. The Top Strategy and insight for me is exactly that, keep “Pushing your thoughts” in the right direction when they are straying. The more you do that, the easier it gets and the less you have to do it more in future!

So that is my article! I hope you enjoyed it and Business Mindset is a critical part of Success Small Business Marketing & Sales in my view.  The better you feel, the better you Market and that means more dollars and success.  Feel free to visit my Awesome Marketing Vault too if you are up for Instant Access to my fine Online Course!

Thank you from Edward Zia – Marketing Mentor and Man Learning Heaps from Manila!

Goodbye United Kingdom: My Awesome Learning’s from the World’s Best!

Stefan Thomas and I during my last moments before entering the Departure Area of the United Kingdom. Nothing like being surrounded by the awesome best!

Stefan Thomas and I during my last moments before entering the Departure Area of the United Kingdom. Nothing like being surrounded by the awesome best!

As I sit here in a hustle and bustle of Heathrow Airport, I am about 4kg heavier, got a pack full of Duty Free Goods for my friends & loving family – and have had my thinking and knowledge upgraded by learning from some of the World’s Best Business Leaders.

I am tapping away on my Sony Windows 8.1 Touch Screen 13″ Ultrabook somewhat wiser and shall we say a “Rather Upgraded” version of my old self.

The cost of my trip (let alone taking 2 – 3 weeks overseas) has been high in itself and for a long time I have been planning this expedition.  The overwhelming value of the trip has been in the friends I have made and the knowledge I have gained from working with some of the worlds top experts from a range of areas:

Stefan Thomas: Relationship Management and Truly Understanding Business Networking.

Brad Burton: Learning 100% Conviction in myself and Inspiring Leadership.

Suraj Sodha: Blogging and Online Product Selling Superiority.

Jarratt Davis: Independent and Long-Term Thinking.

Lin Cooper: Organization, Consistency and Focus.

Terry Cooper: Sales Process and Management Superiority.

My belt is tight from lots of food and no exercise and my mind is exploding with tons of new concepts that I have 2 x Flights of 8 x Hours each to think about.

My big learning on this trip was it’s great being open to people who know it better than you, keeping an open mind and increasing ones knowledge from the wisdom of their knowledge.

Where to from here for me? Who knows – but I have 16 x Hours of Flying time to Manila to think about it and my next steps.

Goodbye for now to my new friends and support team from the United Kingdom.  They rock and one day I so must return the favour.

Fun Profitable Business Networking Strategies: Learned from the World’s Best!

The 4Networking Glastonbury New Group Launch was amazing. I have been lucky to learn from some of the World's Best Networkers and hang out with Becky Holley there too!

The 4Networking Glastonbury New Group Launch was amazing. I have been lucky to learn from some of the World’s Best Networkers and hang out with Becky Holley there too!

Business Networking I have always and even more to this day seen it as one of the Top Small Business Marketing Strategies.

I have helped clients and met countless people that have built 6-Figure Businesses out of Face to Face Networking.  Some from scratch and some who are say stuck between $50K to $100K per / year and helping them break the $500K / year earnings.

In my Online Training Course “The Awesome Marketing Vault” I have a whole section dedicated to teaching and helping one understand how to make Business Networking a Profitable and Fun experience.

As I write this article in the United Kingdom, I was very lucky to participate in the launch of 4Networking Glastonbury today.  It’s the a massive music town and it was an amazing to be part of a New 4Networking Group Launch with plenty of people joining our happening business networking group.

The 4Networking Team (which I am very proud to be a member of) are some of the best Business Networkers in the world when it comes to running events and helping people of all experiences succeed.

In my time in the United Kingdom I have been spending it with business leaders Terry & Lin Cooper, Brad Burton, Stefan Thomas – people who Network and run events for a living.  They get how things work and their thinking is based on “Meet, Liking, Knowing and Trusting” someone (it’s how I built my business and I actively teach this to many of my clients today).

This sounds a bit obvious when I write it out like this – but very few practice this in the real world.  I had a great conversation with Terry Cooper on the topic and he is a Master Sales Man.  None of us like Buying or even Selling to people we don’t like or have trust for.  In terms of the “Meet, Like, Know & Trust” approach, Terry and the lot are always of the view that you need to spend enough time with someone to figure out if you are really going to do business with them.

This is not only just going to plenty of Business Networking Events and meeting people, but also meeting them one on one for coffee to get to know each other.  As you become friends and trust each other, it’s quite natural for business to be done as a consequence of that process.

So in very simple terms, some of the World’s Best Business Networkers constantly advise:

– “Make friends based on trust and then do business”.

We have all been making friends in our lives for years and this is the basis of using Business Networking as an effective Small Business Marketing Strategy to achieve that objective.

My advice? Look at your Business Networking from a point of reason.  You won’t buy anything from someone you just meet and vice-versa.  Think carefully about the Networking Events you go too, make friends and work out with each other how you can help each other make money.  It’s critical to go to networking events, connect with the right people at that group and then spend 1-on-1 time with them – all with a productive business friendship driven purpose.

This is exactly how I did it and it’s great seeing it in practice yet again today!

When you are in business for yourself (and especially in services) there is a very high probability that you will be promoting events.  Be it you are running your own events to help bring people together or helping your friends / colleagues promote their own.

In my Online Course the Awesome Marketing Vault, I talk about Small Business Marketing Strategies including some of my own favourite LinkedIn and Facebook Marketing Techniques.  Social Media of course is one great means of getting the message out there, but there are plenty more too.

A full dedication of this article goes to my friend & business colleague Mariane Barakat too.  She asked me this question inspiring this article and she is Legally Blind who gives people vision with her amazing Motivational Message.

When it comes to promoting events, there are a great array of means of getting it out there – here is my own Awesome Guide on the Matter and this conversation in inspiring me to do a Webinar on this Topic as well:

1) Having a Good Online Link to Book in: Sending a PDF can work really well for paid event, however quite often having an Online Link that people can sign up at works extremely well.  For example, you can click here to join us at our Squeeze Business Networking Event which Mariane Inspired me to talk about.

2) Facebook & LinkedIn Posting: You can paste the links into most Social Media Engines and even do promoted posts of them.  I talk about this in my Awesome Marketing Vault.

3) Email Marketing: If you are doing a newsletter, great to include it in there inviting people to join you.

4) Pick up the Phone: Best technique ever! Email people personally then ring them up inviting them.  If I say am running a Free Event, if I ring up 5 x People I will get 1 x Visitor.  Great strategy this one and love it.

5) Make it a Great Event and Ask for Sharing: Make it a brilliant event that you just can’t miss and ask people to share it and invite their friends.  I do this all the time and I must say it works very well.

6) Promote it at other events with a nice card: If you attend other events it’s great to promote your other events to invite people along.  Having a nice printed up ticket or a printed up card can work extremely well and invite people along.

7) Do the Numbers: You got to ask heaps of people! It’s a great thing to do and from a Sales Perspective it’s a great excuse to say hello to people.

I hope that guide helps you out and go for it.  If you would like to learn more too about Small Business Marketing too – you can get instant access my Online Course “The Awesome Marketing Vault” here.

Have a great day or night everyone and best of luck in filling up your event!
