Slightly WINNING everyday

Karl Tuynman and the wonderful team from Jehbco are winners. I love their work!

It was some years ago I was very lucky to get a phone call from a wonderful friend. She came to one of my early full day free seminars and I was blessed to hear she loved it on many levels.

My friend worked in ecotourism and one her wonderful clients was on the lookout for a Marketing Mentor & Specialist to help them out and she put my name forward.

It was great, and I was very lucky to meet the wonderful people from Jehbco Silicone Specialists. They are incredible people and over the years I have been grateful to work with them and have seen them grow everyday stronger and stronger.

Jehbco are manufacturers of Speciality Silicone used in massive Transport, Construction, Food, Pharmaceutical Applications and more; creating high value specialised products for sealing.

What I have found incredible about how they work is that they slightly get stronger each day. That is, every time I see them, they have done something new. It’s improvements on the website here, slight improvements in their manufacturing, learning something new in sales, training their people more.

Basically, they are great in lots of ‘slight’ improvements all the time that keep adding up. To the point where they just won the ‘Excellence in Export’ Category in the North Eastern Sydney Business Awards.

My advice and thinking? Like Jehbco, winning in business is not usually big things. It’s all the ‘slight’ improvements we make everyday that add up to a big win. My business life has been the same and it’s been great.

Keep at it, small wins are all wins and we love them.

Thank you Jehbco and love your work friends!

P.S. You rock Jess!

We loved Cydney’s Event!

Cydney did a great job! We loved it on many, many levels!

Cydney did a great job! We loved it on many, many levels!

It is one of those nights where I get home late with a wonderful smile of success! Tonight, I got to watch the powerhouse Cydney O’Sullivan succeed with the first of her NEW Meetup Series on how to become a Celebrity Author and Speaker.

Colin, Sharon & I got in early to check things out and it was a great venue at the City Tattersalls Venue in Sydney CBD (the first great step). It was modern, well lit, looked great and I would be proud to hold an event there.

Cydney then came in with great high value content talking books, Marketing & Sales, giving great advice that most would charge for. This was a top key point and brilliant!

Then, Cydney was engaging, energetic and it just rocked. This let to a great event where people stayed back, spoke to her, engaged and you know it was a winner.

My advice and thinking? When you run events do a great job! Think of all the little detail, get it right and start as early as you can. As you do that, you will nail it, get great reviews and of course sell more and win big.

You rock Cydney and looking forward till next time!

We Win Again. Thank you AEONA Coworking Space!

AEONA Coworking Space enable our success at Profitable Marketing and WE LOVE THEM!

AEONA Coworking Space enable our success at Profitable Marketing and WE LOVE THEM!

It’s another GREAT night from Profitable Networking with our best event on many levels. I think we had the highest attendance ever (without doing an exact count), the room had the greatest looking people and our event Space at AEONA really delivered on what we needed.

Our Meetup has reached #1 in Sydney in the Entrepreneur space and we are so grateful on many levels. What has enabled this success, the energy and the type of crowd has been our wonderful sponsor and support AEONA Coworking Space.

AEONA are located just a block from the Elizabeth St Entrance / Exit of Central Station in Sydney and it’s great. They have been around for around six years and do an incredible job looking after entrepreneurs.

Be it you want to hire an events space, planning space or say get an office or a desk; it’s a top entrepreneurial hub to be part of. They enable our success and we have had several people from our community already move in.

My advice and thinking?

>> Check out their website right here and go for a visit.

Benny & Alex (who are brothers) own the place, they will take you for a tour and tell them of course you read this blog article.

Love your work, THANK YOU AEONA, check them out and stay awesome friends!

I love my MICROSOFT pen and I took heaps of them!

The best pen that has ever existed and SHALL EVER EXIST!

The best pen that has ever existed and SHALL EVER EXIST!

I had a wonderful Entrepreneur Networking Event back at the Microsoft Flagship store last week. It was full of great looking people (including me), Microsoft put on an incredible breakfast (with a great barista making coffee) and they gave us all sorts of goodies.

It was the mark of my week and I got so much out of that.

During the week, I noticed they had a stack of Microsoft pens and they were seriously really good (really good). They weren’t just great pens, they also had the Microsoft Logo on there.

I took one and it just wasn’t enough. I took more and more. I realised I was kind of pushing my luck, so I stopped for about 5 minutes.

Then I went up and took another handful. Then another. Then more!

My advice and thinking? When you see great pens from a top company like Microsoft, takes heaps of them. They are really cool, and I am handing them to my friends (and they think I am so cool). Pens rock. Especially free ones from Microsoft.

I love your work friends, thank you Microsoft and thank you Bill Gates! (You are a great generous guy).

Clearing your mind from clutter, negativity and focusing on WHAT MATTERS!

Eating well is a great too for getting back into and staying in the zone!

Eating well is a great too for getting back into and staying in the zone!

People tell me a lot how positive, focused and in the zone I am. Whilst I would say that is true as an overall statement, I have my moments where I am certainly not that.

It could be after a setback, I may feel a bit tired from some long hours or whatever trigger; sometimes I can get quite cluttered and overloaded in my thoughts. It doesn’t happen that much, but when it does; it can certainly throw me out of the zone.

To get back in the zone, this is what I find really works:

  • Get some rest: This is great and sometimes our mind goes off track for that reason.
  • Light exercise / go for a walk: I love this type of move.
  • Meditate / Pray: Phone off, no watching YouTube, this really clears my mind in many ways.

I find that if I don’t do this, the thinking tends to take me over. My once negative thoughts feel real, where they weren’t say a day or two ago.

My advice or thinking? Daily prayer, meditation and exercise is critical! It helps to prevent this thinking and when you think this way, hit it harder to help one get out of it. It works, I love it! As you do this, you can then focus on what you really want and it sets you up to win big on many levels.

Take action, be cleared and stay awesome friends!

Staying Connected and Keeping Your PROJECTS ALIVE!

Keep your projects moving friends! It may require some serious chasing.

Keep your projects moving friends! It may require some serious chasing.

I have had many situations in my business where I had situations that were going against me, which I turned around.

One included a series of very profitable workshop & speaking opportunities with a massive business networking organisation that was going great till they went quiet on me. I got extremely worried and I made a few phone calls.

There was no reply! I then kept digging and found out that the person looking after me in the networking organisation had left. I then got in phone, found the right person and then went on to speak at about 6 coming events and did well early on.

If I didn’t stay connected and keep chasing them, I would have been toast.

But I did!

My advice and thinking? When you are working on projects, please stay connected with the one you are speaking too. This is very important on multiple levels in that if anything goes wrong, you want to find out quickly, so you can react.

Be it your decision maker leaves the organisation, there are some problems, or they even forget about you; you can get in there and turn things around.

Stay connected! It’s critical. Believe me ????

Love your work, thank you for the read and stay awesome!

Delivering Value, Strength and Brilliant Events

Ruchi and Raj delivered a great strong Meetup. I love their work!

Ruchi and Raj delivered a great strong Meetup. I love their work!

I am a big fan of Ruchi Motial-Suri who when I first met, I noticed her very cool voice. She is smart, strong and has this great commanding tonality about her which gets engagement on many levels.

As we got to know each other and work together, I was grateful to be invited to speak at one of her events and she is speaking at our Profitable Marketing Meetup in a few weeks from the time I write this article.

Ruchi’s event (which I spoke at), was extremely well run and it hit the mark in several different ways. I loved her approach and it would work for anyone, done well.

To unpack the greatness of Ruchi’s event, this is what I really liked that impressed the attendees:

– Powerful Content: It’s stuff that you would pay for, that was given out on the house. Nice!

– Strength: Ruchi and her husband Suri, really hit hard with strength in what they do. They sound incredible confidence and you get extremely taken in by their great message.

– Brilliant: Even though the event was free, you would pay for it. Great people, top networking exercises, outstanding ideas and it was engaging.

My advice and thinking? Make sure you connect with Ruchi and check out some of her wonderful events. As you run your own events too, make sure you are making them strong, deliver top content and make it highly engaging.

It also pays to have a strong ‘command tonality’ in your voice too. Make sure you sound strong, confident and that you are 100% with the ideas you have backed up by an assertive voice. People love it and it persuades the subconscious mind well.

Love your work, thank you for the read and stay awesome friends!

20 Phone Calls a Day!

Rebecca Kemp is incredible and she built her success on 20 calls a day. Nice!

Rebecca Kemp is incredible and she built her success on 20 calls a day. Nice!

I met up with one of my oldest business contacts come friends in Sydney ever. When I first arrived in city as decided to settle here and make a life here (sounds like in the colonial days), I realised that I probably need a job.

This was way before I had any idea of becoming a Marketing Mentor & Coach. As I had no money at all, I started meeting recruiters around town.

It took me a good 6 months and more to get a job, and one of the earliest recruiters I met was a powerhouse woman by name of Rebecca Kemp. She is everywhere, has all the top placements and is one of Sydney’s top recruiters.

We reconnected and met up recently and it was great! I look at her now with very different eyes to what I did a decade ago and we spoke about succeeding at the start.

I asked her when she started as a recruiter, how many phone calls did she make a day?

It was 20 to 30. Yes, 20 to 30 phone calls Rebecca made to build her client base day in and day out. This was cool and it’s exactly what I have done in times of my business to get growth, meetings, clients and fill workshops.

20 to 30 phone calls a day! It’s a bit, but it works great and it how we break through and get clients.

My advice and thinking? Be it you started your business yesterday or have been going for a while; make continual calls reaching out to people. When you make say 20 a day like Rebecca Kemp did, you will do great and make lots of money.

Numbers work! Do the numbers ???? Believe me. It all plays out.

Love your work, thank you Rebecca and stay awesome friends!

Developing Your Own UNIQUE STYLE!

My style has just worked and I love it. Find your own!

My style has just worked and I love it. Find your own!

Last year I went through a great reboot where I lost some of the old, kept part of the old and really focused on the direction I want to go in.

I had some great Mentors helping me get my style just right and I made a few decisions in this whole process. They were giving conflicting information with some of the advice they were giving me spot on, and some miles off the mark.

What got me thinking this about this experience was a selfie I took in the mirror at the Sofitel Wentworth. It was a very popular photo to share online that people loved, and I realised that I looked great!

I have had people to tell me to wear suits, Chino’s, loafer shoes and the like; which is not me at all, nor is my target market. I work with entrepreneurs and I can tell you that if I wear a suit to one of my events, I will probably halve my sales and give a weird vibe to the event (however I will gladly wear a suit to the Chamber).

I love my Designer Jeans, Doc Martens, Puffy Jackets, Baseball Caps (especially in the cold and extreme sunlight) and my technicians backpack carrying my range of equipment. It’s worked great for me and played out just great.

My advice and thinking? Don’t let anyone tell you ‘your look’. It’s something you want to explore, build and unpack over time. I have also lost a lot of weight too, which has made my look even more wonderful.

Will everyone like it? Hell no! But, the right people who I want to attract will and do. Work on your own style, love it and own it.

Love your work, thank you to my wonderful mentors and stay awesome friends!

Strong People

Kshama and her team from Coach and Connect are great people. An honour to work with them!

Kshama and her team from Coach and Connect are great people. An honour to work with them!

It’s 11:16PM and it’s been a great day doing lots of great stuff. My evening today included speaking at the wonderful ‘Coach & Connect’ in North Sydney.

It’s a Coaching Network and it was run by Kshama Upadhyay who is a brilliant, STRONG operator that is in the zone.

Kshama is someone who I have known that gets my respect. There are many reasons for that (e.g. competence, focus, style etc) with my main reason being that she is a strong person.

What I mean by strong is that she is:

–          Focused on her beliefs

–          Sticks to her guns

–          Will make her points get heard

–          Outcome focused

–          Savvy

–          Doesn’t take BS

–          In the zone

I really like these traits and strong people are the ones who win big.

My advice and thinking? Whether you think you are strong or not, I am not too spooked. You can become more this way. I honestly spend lots of my life not too strong, but I worked on my own fortitude, stamina and strength overtime and it’s been great. Strong people are great people and wind up very successful. I see it all the time.

Love your work Kshama! And I love your work for reading this article.

Many thanks and stay awesome!

Having a strong and successful DAY!

The best way to start my days and I love it!

The best way to start my days and I love it!

It’s 8:03PM as I write this blog on a fine Sunday evening in Sydney. Tomorrow is the start of a new week and I have been getting prepared.

I am speaking at lots of events and getting my ‘Speech Packs’ ready (i.e. pens, printouts and the like) and thinking through how I am going to win big this week and keep everything going the way I want it.

Last week, I started a new process in my business whereby I call 30 people a day! It’s a strength and I did it, which has resulted in myself making a few thousand extra last week. That I love, and it’s reminded me as to the importance of starting off your day the right way.

When I start a day, there are key things I love to make my day work:

–          Arrive earlier before meetings so I can chill out, do emails, make calls and the like.

–          Drink my fine coffee nice and early to get me in the zone.

–          Clear my emails, follow up and stay on top of them.

–          Do a Social Media Video before my day beings.

–          Look at my Business Plan in inspire me.

–          Pray to Jesus.

–          Gratitude!

These moves all add up to my having an incredible day on many levels.

My advice and thinking? A great day comes with preparation. If you have a day where things run against you, there is room to catch up. If you are having a great day, you have an even better day. I love preparing for my days. It helps me win big.

I love your work, thank you for the read and stay awesome friends!

Getting Everyone to Participate in your WORKSHOPS!

Our Meetup HQ was a great group of people who helped each other. I love their work!

Our Meetup HQ was a great group of people who helped each other. I love their work!

As I sit at my Windows 10 Touch Screen PC watching the Royal Wedding, I have been thinking lots about what it would have been like if Trump and Hillary Clinton went.

It would have been funny; however, I am very glad that didn’t happen in that it would have stolen too much camera from our wonderful new Duke & Duchess to come.

This got me thinking about our great workshop during the week for Meetup HQ. I love running great workshops and when you have events like these, there is always a challenge of getting as event participation as possible.

Quiet people love to sit back and absorb, with loud people who love to share their powerhouse knowledge. One must be careful in these situations to make sure everyone gets their thoughts out and the diversity of thought in a group cane come to the surface.

I know I can talk a bit and be assertive and I force myself to keep quiet more. I also love letting the uncomfortable silences play out as it allows the quiet people to come to the surface.

With quiet people too, unless you directly ask them and invite them to participate, they can sit there for two hours saying very little (which is tragic, as I want to hear their great ideas). In our workshop during the week, this was my best in that I did three key things:

  •  At the start, I asked quiet people to speak up, and loud people to give more space.
  • I would ‘pick on’ the awesome quiet people more.
  • Great loud people who loved to help, I invited to chill out more and relax.

This worked great and it was the most even participation I have ever had which was reflected in great reviews.

My advice and thinking? When you run discussions, go for everyone participating. The diversity of thought really brings a meeting to the next level and we just love it. This worked great for our Meetup HQ meeting and I shall be doing it much more in the future.

I love your work, thank you for the read and I appreciate everyone who came; love your work!
