Thank you Daily Express and Nigel Farage – Great post!

Whilst working away at Anytime Fitness this morning I do what I like doing best; playing with mobile phone and looking at everything and anything.

I find myself switching very quickly from Star Wars Mobile games, to Facebook, to Twitter and even YouTube if I find myself in quiet corner of the gym.

One article on FB that hit me with a smile was from the Express UK talking about a major studio in talks to make a film about Nigel Farage. Before the welcome Brexit; Nigel Farage went from one trashed by the mass media to a person feared by them.

He is the man behind UKIP that for years fought against the global establishment backed up by the will of the people and his own fortitude within. Like many; I never thought the Brexit would have gone through and this has made Nigel Farage easily one of the heroes of recent times.

What I learned from Nigel was the importance of doing things your way and sticking to your own thinking, working towards the truth and long term visions.

When we are in our own businesses marketing away; the first that happens when we start going down our own unique path is that we can get criticism. This can come in many forms with sadly lots of it coming from a place of ‘tall poppy’ syndrome. You don’t need me to prove that exists to you but what I can say to you is this:

– Listen to the market BUT carve out your own direction and difference.

This is very important in marketing of your own business in that you must be different to get a response. Differences can come out in many ways beyond dressing funny or saying controversial stuff (as do I) including:

– Giving more free value that anyone else.

– Visiting more places than anyone else.

– Running more events than anyone else.

– Meeting more people than anyone else.

– Going harder than anyone else. Etc!

You will notice the term I have used in that ‘anyone else’. By this thinking you will naturally excel, go beyond the background and stand out. That paves the way to being truly unique and setting yourself up as a true leader.

My advice and thinking? Like the heroes of the day including Farage, Trump, Putin, Gates, Jobs and the like; they are a great inspiration in the respect in that they do their own thing. They spend their lives understanding how people think and they connect with people in their own way. Of course you don’t need me to tell you they get the results.

Think carefully about your unique way and hit the market hard. Take on the ‘right criticism’ you hear and explore your own approach.

For example, I put on an Army Hat as more of a joke once. However it felt great and everyone loved it. I now wear it everywhere. Even though it is ‘just a hat’, it slowly adds to my overall uniqueness and ability to stand out.

Who knows what else I will do this year? I don’t even know what I shall come up with 🙂

Love your work, thanks for the read, thank you Nigel Farage and Daily Express for your inspiration!
