Beautiful handouts make all the difference and everyone loves them!

I have done this for years and said this for years; when you are running a workshop, speaking at an event or getting up in public, if possible you want to give people a handout of some form.

Be it a single page with talking points or even a full print out of your slides, this makes your workshop / presentation more convincing and powerful.

If you ever hit one of my Marketing Meetups, you will have been given a beautiful handout. These are the slides of what I talk through and they work incredible well in terms of enhancing the customer experience and myself getting more clients.

I get asked a lot why you should give people a handout and these are my top 5 reasons:

–          It makes you more convincing. As you have given something in writing.

–          The detail oriented people will take you very seriously.

–          As people make notes it gives them something to write on.

–          People take it with them to get reminded of you.

–          Wouldn’t you want one?

The last point to me is quite important and how I explain it to people. Let’s say I was sitting in a workshop. The last thing I would want to do is just listen to some person saying ‘stuff’. I want to see a bit of detail, a bit of proof, a bit of effort, a bit of awesomeness you would say!

My advice and thinking? When you speak in public and run your own workshops put a lot of work into it to make it incredibly successful.

Handouts are a big part of that in when they get home, that is probably all they have to remind themselves of yourself. I find many will refer back to my handouts (even for months to come) and by doing this well it sets you up to win big.

Love your work, enjoy wonderful handouts and stay awesome!
