I am busy loving NSW Business Chamber (and winning!)

It was only about 2 years ago that I was asking a lot of questions about my business. Sure, I had did what few businesses do in that I ‘survived’ but I didn’t start a business to ‘survive’ – I did it to succeed.

During this time I was considering many different things, exploring new ideas, new parts of town and I had this determination to take things to the next level. Many of these things didn’t work, but with thanks to some great input from my awesome wife (who is wonderful) – she pointed me in the direction of NSW Business Chamber.

As I investigated this interesting storyline arc, I started going to their events and got a brand new experience of what I had never been used too. The events had hundreds of people, everyone has money, is successful and the people on the Chamber and done their best to help and support me.

This morning I attended and spoke at a New Members Welcome Breakfast (at NSW Chamber’s Head Office in North Sydney) to give my experiences and talk about this issue. In short, this is how the Chamber has helped me in both direct commercial terms and also emotional outcomes:

  • More High Value Clients: This is people directly hiring me in that I meet. It’s incredible, they are great people that have become friends and clients.
  • Better quality referrals: I get lots of people coming to me now out of ‘nowhere’. Upon investigation, they turn out to be referrals from people that know me through NSW Business Chamber. I can imagine they just mentioned me and the business went across my way.
  • It helped me break into the competitive Sydney CBD: Sydney is not a city for the faint hearted and to make it by you have to really know what you are doing. NSW Chamber gave me the platform and the opportunity to take me from someone more on the fringes of Sydney, to a guy right in the thick of things.
  • New friends and great growth in my life: New friends are always welcome and even though money is important (which it is), I have made lots of new friends in this environment. Even if I am say having a bad day, a visit to the Chamber cheers me up and keeps me emotionally ‘in the zone’.

The big point I made today though to everyone is that the Chamber though only works if you:

    • Show up
    • Be patient
    • Behave consistently
    • Follow up
    • Be awesome

That’s it! It’s wonderful and I love their work. As a shout out too, Susan Halliday is my Account Manager at the Chamber. She rocks and basically she looks after me, answers my questions and helps me with quality referrals. When you join the chamber I don’t know if it would be Susan or not, but you will get someone wonderful looking after you.
