I’ve learned alot from studying Trump and this election. Random cool stuff!
I was sitting at my desk and believe it or not it’s one of those rare moments where I had writer’s block. I am serious!
Even though I have lots of marketing ideas going through my mind; nothing really stood out and with thanks to my wife’s suggestion I found something really cool today.
Donald Trump has actually had plenty of cameos in movies over the years. In fact, he was in the early part of Home Alone 2 where our young hero Macaulay Culkin asks a man where the bathroom is. The man happened to be Donald Trump some years ago and it was a very funny scene to watch.
What was very funny about all this is that over the past decades he was this cool and funny entertainer; but now he has become such a serious polarising symbol in this world. Lots of his ‘media friends’ all turned on him very quickly with their bias and now trump has become a populist ‘rebel leader’ so to speak.
It got me thinking about how things can radically change in the world and how even Donald himself must be reflecting on how his world has changed around him. I imagine that life must have been pretty cruisy for him prior to going for president and it’s got me thinking of what must have driven him to do this.
It’s certainly not money or power; or at least not in the form we’d understand it. I imagine that he would have gone through a massive change of consciousness later on life that drove him to take on something as big as this.
Looking into the mirror; it got me thinking about all the big turning points in our lives. We get those key moments when we hit the ‘fork in the roads’ and I that can great a lot of negative and positive stress.
Usually in those situations the bigger, riskier and crazy decision is the way to go.
My advice and thinking? You can learn great ideas from almost everywhere. I have been studying Trump very closely in this election and every little bit I learn about him stimulates some thinking and reflection in my own life.
Think very carefully about the direction of your business and life. There are those times where it’s not about money or power. It is about something else…
