It’s much easier making a buck when you are consistent with your Sales & Marketing! The best strategy only works with the best frequent Marketing and Sales Effort!

Talking Small Business (or even Large Business for that matter) – Sales & Marketing is often one of the key drivers of a businesses Bottom-Line, however it often gets the least structure, focus and attention that it justifies.

I think there can be a lot of reasons for that and I think it’s more related to the “Emotional / Subjective” nature of Marketing, the Information Overwhelm (with thousands of Strategies Out There) and the fact it’s not an “Urgent” job to be done.

Make no mistake, Sales & Marketing is “Important / Critical” but by no means it’s urgent.

Paying your taxes may be urgent, paying a powerbill may be urgent – but with Sales & Marketing it isn’t.  Quite often it takes months to get sales results in when you first start and due to this lag, I think it often doesn’t get the attention / structure it deserves.

Even if you have a rocking business, the truth is that if you say back off the Sales & Marketing – you may be okay for a few weeks.  You may even be okay for a few months! But then what happens is that as your “New Customer Pipeline” empties out you can be in a bit of trouble.  Then it can create a “Famine / Feast” reaction where poor business owners have to live on nothing and struggle to get more clients.

Talking to the positive solution in this one, in my Premium Online Course The Awesome Marketing Vault by Edward Zia, “Structure”, “Weekly Lists” and the activities one needs to do is quite often reinforced.

It all comes down to this; you can have the best “Strategy” ever – but if you aren’t doing it frequently enough it just doesn’t work.  I tend to joke about this in some of my Workshops / Seminars, “What is the cure for inconsistent marketing? Consistent Marketing!”

I couldn’t express this loud enough and what I highly recommend are having KPI / Weekly Task lists.  Today for example, I met a new Awesome Client and she is a High-End Consultant breaking out of Corporate and doing her own thing. In her case, I recommend to get her going that she:

– Goes Business Networking 1 x Per Week.

– Visits LinkedIn Everyday.

– Has at least 2 x Coffee Chats Per Week.

This is a great start for her and as she gets used to it, gets traction and gets better – she can add more to the list (especially when she leaves her job).

My advice and thinking? Of what you know you need to do – put it into your KPI / Shopping List and follow it religiously.  If you need help, get yourself a Coach / Accountability Partner to help you make it happen.  You do this well, I can promise that your Bank Account will start falling in love with you! It may be hard at the start, but the more consistent you are, the more you shall learn and the easier it shall become.

Thank you for the read, love your work and drop me a line if I can assist!
