More Marketing, more Chambers, more Leads, more Winning – love it!

We had a record month in February 2017 – being the largest I have ever had. I am totally grateful for that and as March continues the leads and interest has been coming in quite heavily.

I remember the old days where I would get a lead a month or at best; say once a fortnight. Things were certainly much quieter in those days and I would always carry a lot of anxiety (which if you are in business, I can only bet you can relate too).

When you don’t have many leads coming in, you tend to get very nervous about the customers you have and even worse; you then take on clients you may not otherwise take on under standard conditions.

My leads about mid 2016 weren’t where I liked them and I did lots of work and increased my own marketing activity. It took a good 3 months for the results to kick in and it’s been incredible since then. There have been some days where I have got 4 x leads in one day and the interest part is that they come from all angles.

A Facebook ad here, a blog post there, a referral there, someone I met on a park bench (seriously) and this chamber even there. Basically it’s not one thing, it’s a lot of different strategies (often overlapping) that is producing the result which I am incredibly proud of and something I would totally like).

It’s critical to make sure that you have enough leads coming in at all times and you are driving this. In order to get this outcome, you need enough of the right Sales & Marketing Activity. In my own case (and many of my clients), it’s Chamber events, running my own events, Facebook, Email Marketing and the like. What I ramped up big time was my involvement in the Business Chambers of Sydney which has been incredible.

My advice and thinking on this one? Increase your level of Marketing activities BIG TIME in what you are doing and make sure they are the RIGHT strategies. I once used to attend lots of smaller breakfast networking events that weren’t that good in hindsight; but replacing them by going to business chambers packed with millionaires made the massive difference.

Measure your leads! Make sure you are getting enough and keep ramping up. Remember that all your leads won’t be good ones, so you need a great quantity to get through the best to your high value products and services.
