It has been one powerhouse 12 months of change and development for me and my life.

Newly married to an amazing woman, an ‘expanding’ family on it’s way and the start of the year was actually very tough on many levels.

It involved lots of changes the business, massive updates to my website, working on the Trump Campaign and towards the end of the year; getting into massive amounts of business networking.

As I reflect on this experience, I really learned a lot about business and my life by being part of doing my small part in helping Trump get elected. This was hundreds of shares, retweets, speaking to people across the world and writing blogs discussing worldwide issues.

This was a seriously great move on my business in that I would learn from Trump being the ‘underdog’, his seemingly infinite amount of motivation and how he worked with other people to achieve his objectives.

In also being a minority myself supporting Trump; I was hit with lots of abuse, criticism and even people saying that as a minority / non-white person, how can I support someone like Trump? Regardless of explanation or proof, they would keep going and it gave me a great opportunity to toughen up. Worth it!

I would then even be more impressed with Trump and his own constitution. He has millions of people against him and he is fine; impressive! In all of this storm of politics and abuse, Trump would seek out the right people and get them on his side. This made a massive winning difference to his campaign and you saw him doing this all the time in two key respects:

Defensively: The typical left would always call Trump ‘racist’. He would then make friends and put up there key minority leaders and figures that would back him to dispel the fake news from the media (e.g. his many endorsements from black pastors and church leaders was a common play).

– Actively: Trump would hire the right people and get the right ones on board to endorse him to make positive gains (e.g. from Dennis Rod to Sheriff David Clarke).

What got me really thinking about this was who Trump has been meeting with. Bill Gates, Jim Brown (from NFL fame) in a photo on his Twitter feed was very impressive. An endorsement from one of the worlds leading tech leaders and philanthropists and also an obviously ‘non-white’ retired sports start is very much the ‘right’ people.

This puts Trump in a very powerful position in that it makes it harder to attack him; plus ‘normal’ people can see the gains and developments he is making.

It’s just brilliant and bringing this back to myself and what I have learned lately; on a much smaller scale of course in my own life I have been doing the same thing. Hitting events every week, meeting up with great people, getting actual endorsement letters from my A-List clients and doing my best to make new powerful friends.

Of course it comes down to what I can do for them. In my own unique way I do what I can to help people to win their favour, support and the like. The more I have been thinking along the way of making the ‘right’ friends the more the business has grown and the game played out in my favour.

My advice and thinking? We all need powerful friends in the right places. They can become clients, refer us to amazing others and help give us the inspiration we need. Such people can be found anywhere where we are out and about.

I have picked up clients from people I have met sitting on park benches (big clients too), right through to meeting the awesomely powerful and networking events in Sydney CBD.

The ‘right’ friends make all the difference and it’s important to be someone who gives first. This can be with your time, your support, your advice and my favourite being giving introductions. I like to work out exactly what people need and if I can connect them to someone I will do it. A simple email from me can mean the world of difference for them.

After all, for the right people to like me I have to right for the, right? (lol)

Love your work, thank you for the read and thank you Donald Trump for you inspiration over 2016 and previous.
