The Academy of Entrepreneurs asked me some wonderful thought provoking questions. Enjoy my answers!

It was only some weeks back that I was very grateful to speak to wonderful group of ‘Immigrant Entrepreneurs’ from the wonderful ‘Academy of Entrepreneurs’ in Sydney.

The wonderful students who were mostly from Brazil were not only brilliant; but lots of high energy fun. Being a Persian Christian myself, I actually found myself to be quite similar to how they Brazilian’s act from anything to their warmth, charisma and what many of my conservative British friends say are my ‘over the top hand gestures’.

Even though I do my best to stick to Marketing; this took a turn into my secondary passion ‘Entrepreneurship’.

One of their wonderful interns Fatima Marquez asked me some key entrepreneurial questions which I thought would be perfect to share with you wonderful people reading my blog in ‘The Edward Files’. Enjoy:

1.  What has been your greatest moment as an entrepreneur so far?

It was achieving my dreams of getting my Online Community & Course the Awesome Marketing Vault profitable and successful! It came at the end of a very expensive and tough three year journey and it was a cathartic release to finally nail the project. Yay!

2.  What has been the hardest challenge that you have faced in your entrepreneurial journey?

It has honestly been dealing with the lows of the journey. Say it takes too long for money to come in, you have a few clients finish up at once or have no new clients for a while. That has knocked me around in the past and I have had to improve my tenacity to resolve that and move on.

3. What do you wish you knew before you started your first business venture?

I wish I knew how to structure my business online and also really how sales actually works. I never found anyone decent that I could trust to give me the detail I needed. Everyone was wonderful in giving ‘high level generalities’ but when it came to reality; it was left wanting.

4.  In your experience, what is the 1 key characteristic that entrepreneurs must have to become successful?

Being self-driven! Critical.

5.   Who do you look up to and why?

I love Donald Trump because of his tenacity.

I love Vladimir Putin in that he sticks to what matters and doesn’t care of what people say about him.

I love Jesus because of the inspiration, kindness and support the wonderful ‘man’ gives me on a daily basis.

6.  What do you look for in a business partner/partnership?

I find it’s critical to look for someone decent and kind.

7.  How do you think changes/disruption in the market may impact your business in the next 5 years?

I can see things really going more online and Artificial Intelligence coming in being a source of online advice for people. I fully intend to take advantage of that ha it comes more powerful and common place in the market.

8. What are some of your daily habits that have helped you stay motivated and on track as an entrepreneur?

Doing Facebook Videos every day, daily exercise and having a list of activities that I must meet and deliver on every week.

There you go! Some of my most inner most thoughts and lessons from the journey. My focus is now really continuing to build on my own mistakes and wins.

Love your work, thank you for the read and you rock Academy of Entrepreneurs! 🙂
