Thinking, thinking and thinking...

Thinking, thinking and thinking…

It’s 9:22PM tonight and my brain has been working overtime since 6AM. From playing a bit of Star Wars: Commander on my phone, working with new clients and the like; this is one of my rare situations where I have seriously nothing to blog about.

In fact, I have wondered for years what would seriously happen if I had nothing to blog about. Would I turn into a Pumpkin? Would my creative juices dry up forever? Would Donald Trump not get into office? Would it mean that the Greens Party becomes Government in Australia? Would third wave feminism become Australia’s new religion?

Strangely enough I am sitting here and none of those Doomsday situations have played out. I feel great, actually and I am in pure ‘creative free flow’ writing. This is basically when you let you creative mind take over and let my ideas flow organically and naturally.

Interestingly as I think this through; some of my best writing, top content and most powerhouse marketing has come from those moments I have entered the ‘free flow’ type of mode. Instead of thinking about things to death and killing great ideas; just write them down.

In fact, some of my best Facebook Marketing Campaigns have come as a results of ‘not thinking’ and ‘more feeling’. Does this sound a little whacky? Yes it does and I can tell you that marketing is a whacky profession.

I actually used to be a Military gone Technical guy many years ago and when I jumped into marketing it became seriously hardly making the jump. From thinking in ‘black and white’ to ‘shades of grey’ (50 of them perhaps? lol) it took a lot of work. However, it’s all played out.

My advice and thinking? When you are in Sales & Marketing you can dry up on creativity every now and then. That is totally cool and the best way of getting the upper hand is actually relaxing.

Take it easy, chill out and let your creative juices come back to you. In fact, that is how I managed to get this blog out. Pretty cool I think.

Thank you for the read and thumbs up for your support. I promise to have some strong topics to talk about tomorrow 🙂
