Standing one’s ground is everything and do it! (Image Credit to South Park & Comedy Central)

I love South Park.

Always have. It deals with fun, smart, satirical and purely funny topics to do with business, life and more!

One great episode was “A Scause for Applause” which is all about Stan Marsh “Standing Up for his Rights”, becoming a symbol for non-conformity and even getting a Nike Sponsorship for it.

A key part of this episode that amused me, was the satire of the Nike Campaign about Stan Marsh, his STANGround movement and how Stan became anti-establishment for the sake of it (Episode 13 of Season 16, highly recommended!).

It involved Stan, standing up in inappropriate places, protesting, pushing back and being strong (before a big Lance Armstrongish scandal hit him, making it a classic episode).

To me, I get such great lessons from all this and the importance of us having to stand our ground at times. As entrepreneurs in business, we all the time have times where people push us around, try and take advantage of us, threaten us or whatever the case maybe.

Since I have been in business, I have been met all types of people. Most people are great, and I have encountered people too who are extremely unstable with questionable ethics. You can get people trolling you, trying to rip you off, make unreasonable demands, or even at times threaten one with physical violence.

My advice and thinking? Never let the fruitcakes get to you and STANGround!

It’s very important you push back against people who are causing you trouble to defend yourself, your clients, your friends, your family and more. Next time you get the unfair / sharp end of the stick, stand your ground my friends. The more you do that, is the more you are going to win and win so much.

It also sends a message to other would be bullies, that they won’t get anywhere with you.

Love your work, stand your ground friends and WIN BIG!
