You can learn lots about life and business from Obi-Wan Kenobi!
When you are in business and you want to win big; it requires a ‘Master Plan’. This isn’t so much a document I am talking about (although it may be), I am more coming in on the viewpoint of knowing exactly the ‘how’ you are going to achieve your plan.
For example and talking to my own business; there has been a lot of work done to establish this. It has included testing my many strategies, trying different things, working out what brings in the sales and really sticking to whatever matters the most.
2016 was the year we moved the business to Sydney CBD (from the Western Suburbs) and it’s been not only incredible, it’s a whole lot of fun. It required lots of work, testing, planning and finding out the right ‘formula’.
In short, it’s been running Live Events, High Value Business Networking, Webinars and great use of Social Media / Email Marketing. If I do this and do it well, everything just works!
As I know what works in particular, I have the ‘Master Plan’ which is basically my pathway to win and win big (as the current results support my thinking). It’s critical now that I stick to this plan and aim on delivering the outcomes on this.
I have seen over the years this is exactly the place where people can get into trouble. I know for example that doing 2 x Live Events a month just works. If I do that, everything will tend to look after itself. If for whatever reason I talk myself out of doing it, things probably won’t work too well which would set everything backwards.
My advice and thinking? Once we have our Master Plan we must stick to it. As life unravels and especially gets in the way, it can be easy to fall off the bandwagon and not deliver on what we must.
This can easily lead to our undoing and one must stick to their path and what’s required of them. It even reminded me of a great Obi-Wan Kenobi quote:
- “You must do what you think is right, of course.”
I see this as a sign of sticking to one’s Master Plan. If you think its right, you must do it and do it well. Then we are responsible for all of our results. We cut losses and ride wins as much as we need.
So go hard with your Master Plan and just win. Win big.
