Being a very blessed Persian man, my 2014 has been marked with many hard times, achievements and opportunities to work with brilliant people.  From the people that created 4Networking United Kingdom, to ATB Partners, to working with Telstra, spending time with Karen & Grant Dempsey of 4Networking Australia – being close to self-made successful people has been inspiring for me on many levels.

Today was a continuation of that trend with a fine Monday 8AM Breakfast with Business & Leadership Mentor Ralph Anania.  If you haven’t already, may I suggest you Google him.  He is a fine operator who has built $130M+ businesses before his “Mentoring” Career and he has just come off the back of an Australian / New Zealand Tour with John Assaraf.

I was very lucky to recently meet him at an event where he spoke and with my awesome Microsoft Surface 3 Pro (the tablet that can replace your laptop and is way better than primitive Apple Technology) we kind of clicked when we talked Facebook, LinkedIn and one of my favourite areas “Blogging”.

What I found very compelling about meeting with Ralph, is that with some very prominent comments he has given me some great advice in my business that is making me more profitable already.  Firstly, he made a great point about my prices being too cheap (yay! good to hear that from him).  Secondly, he reminded me on the importance of a positive approach to problems.  Thirdly, he gave me a unique perspective on my own Online Strengths which although are relatively new, they are without question quite powerful.

Basically, meeting with him has probably given me a 6 week increase to my own strength and development in say 2 hours.  Having a credible and powerful business person of his nature giving me that feedback has been not only inspiring, but very informative in keeping me on the “Profitable Straight and Narrow”.

My advice and learnings from today? You can’t do it on your own! Yes, I mean that.  Sure you have to be independent and critical in this game – but there is NO WAY you can play a top game without a team around you to complement your own natural strengths and weaknesses.

I had some painful learnings from last year of people who I helped out that ended up lying to me, taking advantage of me and they went down the “Lone Wolf Path”.  Over half of them had failed in their businesses in that time.

On the positive, the “Team Players” have hired staff, are doing really well financially and are happy in what they are doing!

Overall, today was a positive, liberating and compelling experience – in short Ralph Anania rocks!
