As much as I love Microsoft and Windows 10 – the AMD Radeon (TM) R7 M360 Bug has driven me nuts! Touch wood they fix it soon.

Hello Awesome People!

Windows 10 has just come out a few days ago and for me it’s been an experience full of highs & lows. It’s a very impressive operating system and for no doubt millions of people (including me), it represents a massive change to the way we work on a daily basis.

Like many of you reading this, I am working on computers a whole lot. If you say spend a few hours a day working on a PC or Tablet – a change to the operating system is actually a massive deal. It impacts how you can do everything from browse the internet, send an email and even the types of games you play.

For me, Windows 10 has been a life changing event. I have two devices, a ‘Microsoft Surface Pro 3’ (which is a tablet / PC made by Microsoft) and also a brand new HP Pavilion ‘All in One’ which is an impressive machine.

Windows 10 is a ‘Free Upgrade’ for those running earlier versions of Windows 7, 8.0 and 8.1 – and basically the way it works is that you computer gets selected according to Microsoft’s own criteria for use and installation.

I knew immediately that installing it on my Surface Pro 3 would be a piece of cake and it was. It’s all made by Microsoft and *you know* that a company like Microsoft would ensure it’s perfect on it’s own signature range.

However, I *also knew* that on a Desktop NOT MADE by Microsoft it may be an issue. Not for any sinister reasons, but more in the respect that it is full of components made by parties that aren’t Microsoft. You only need a part of a PC (e.g. a Graphics Card, Hard-Drive, Network Driver, Webcam etc) to have a glitch with Windows 10 and that creates all sort of issues.

In the case of upgrading my Desktop, it was a massive disaster and things went very badly. Basically there was a conflict between Windows 10 and the Software Driver for my Graphic Card (being an AMD Radeon (TM) R7 M360). This is basically a very high end Graphics Card and I got this horrible conflict error.

Basically this error would stop my PC dead in it’s tracks forcing a reboot. It wouldn’t last more than say 20 minutes without going bad, rendering my PC totally useless. It was a high stress experience working on it and after losing many hours, I called up my old friend Edward Wright to fix it.

I went to his place and we had to revert the HP Pavilion back from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1. The reason was that the drivers (software) from AMD are not yet completely compatible with Windows. This resulted in basically not being able to get anywhere and with thanks to his great help – we just have to wait for AMD & Microsoft to sort their stuff out and provide the right software drivers.

It was a challenging, frustrating and actually a very learning experience. I learned a great deal from all this and it made me think greatly about business and life.

My major epiphany was the problems & distractions that happen in business. From people who have taken advantage of me, to paying bills, to having to watch your junk food and of course problems with Windows 10 – there are many things going down one must be careful of. I have found it’s easy to get over distracted by the little things and it’s critical to focus on what matters.

For me, Residual Income, Serving my clients and ‘The Awesome Marketing Vault’ totally matter and the more I focus on them the better. Windows 10 playing up is a small bump in the road and so what you get people wronging you every now and then – make sure you have a master plan and you executive it nicely.

The more my master plan (of growing Residual Income) is realized the better.

My advice? Do what you need to, but ignore the junk, focus on what matters and if you are having the same Windows 10 bug I am having – don’t worry about it. I am sure Microsoft and AMD are working on it right now…
