It is certainly the “December” Silly Season for sure and as I write this blog post, it’s about 12:01AM.

I am “Hungover” right now after spending some great time working with the amazing Paul Battaglia from Digital Junction.  He is a very kind, intelligent man who has been operating for years in the IT Services Space (doing big Websites & CRM Solutions for companies of say 5+ employees).

Yet again, I am very lucky to work with BRILLIANT & AWESOME operators like Paul from several viewpoints.

I get to support his great work in running 4Networking Chatswood and in terms of helping each other business wise.

Today we had a great meeting right in the beautiful North Shore / Chatswood in Sydney.  We met up to talk Marketing Strategy, Selling, Tactics and Projects and it was super productive.

What made it even more productive was “Paul Firing the First Shot” when he asked me:

“Edward are you drinking?”

My answer to this question was “YES” and we both had identical drinking tastes, a beautiful full bodied House Shiraz (Red). Over perhaps a 2 – 3 hour time frame I had 4 x Full Glasses of Wine and I was drunk! I had trouble walking straight and I even had to go for a massive walk and sit around the “Quiet & Cool” Chatswood Public Library to sober up before driving home.

When I got home, I immediately I went to sleep – waking up hours later (being now) to work on my emails and articles.  Even though I am regretting it now, I think drinking while working is great every now and then.

The reality is that in your own small business you have to work some long hours and when you say have clients leave you, problems come up or whatever the case may be – it can create a bit of havoc for you.  It’s stressful at times!

So as we are awesome business owners putting up with lots of stress, we got to balance it out with good times when we can have them.  Be it getting a bit drunk, eating massive meals / feasts, awesome holidays and basically “Splashing Out” on great luxuries at times to keep one sane.

Yes, I am feeling the “Burn” right now from my getting drunk at 4PM today but overall it was worth it.  It was a great chance to better connect with Paul and also it was fun.

My advice and thinking? Business has good and bad times – so enjoy the good so it sets you up to work though the “Bad” when it comes!

Love your work and thanks for the read from Edward Zia – Marketing Mentor and Crazy Persian who enjoys a fine Red!
