When you are chilled, you can relax and win in style! (My cat totally gets this point).
‘Prepping’ is a great obvious use of slang that I learned many years ago in the Retail Food industry. Basically if you are running a restaurant, café or food venue; your success tomorrow comes from the work you did yesterday.
If you know have you have a busy day coming up, the day before you shall be busy PREPPING!
If you get everything well prepared the day before, you have anticipated problems in advance and done all that you can; it paves the way for a successful day to come.
This may sound very obvious, but many people (including myself once) don’t do the best job of this. Talking more to marketing as well, it works in exactly the same way.
For example; it’s Sunday 3:05PM today. I have been working for about 3 – 4 hours today. I do like my Sunday’s off of course, however I am busy setting myself up for massive wins tomorrow being Monday. That is instead of sleeping with fear and waking up going “Oh my CAWD how am I going to get this all done?” – I wake up with room in my day to react to what happens behind me.
This exactly happened to me last Friday. I did lots of work the day before and I had a back to back day on Friday. A new lead came in. As I had room in my day from great prep the day before, I was able to get onto that lead right away and turn them into a new high value client (yay and thank you if you are reading this).
To succeed in marketing you need to have time in your day to make it possible. Be it having time to go to events that come up, meeting people, putting out posts on Facebook or knocking on doors; whatever your strategy you need the room to make it all happen.
My advice and thinking friends? Never leave stuff to the same day – always work ahead as much as you can. Especially as your business grows, EVERYDAY SOMETHING WILL COME UP!
This can be good things that you have to react to right away to turn into high value customers. It also keeps your mind clear and focused on the job at hand. Make sure you always work ahead. I promise you will love it, make more money and enjoy your business way more.
