The Awesome Greg Standen asked me a potent question of ‘How I did it?’ – It was a pleasure answering!

Hello Awesome People!

Every now and then I get asked the question of “How did you do it Edward? How did you go from a nobody two years ago, to being the one that people know and talk about?”

Many consider me a ‘Success’ which part of me still finds incredibly strange. Part of me still sees myself as the ‘Unemployed’ loser who couldn’t get work in Sydney and these days I still pinch myself for all the awesome people supporting me, helping me and of course reading my blog (such as you!).

Today I met with the Awesome Greg Standen who is a fine Marketer (from a Telemarketing background) who I have a great deal of respect for. He is a man that may be known for being in a ‘Wheelchair’ – but make no mistake, he is more active that most so called ‘Able Bodied’ people I know. We met up today and we were working on some great business items and he asked me a potent question, “Edward how did you turn your finances and life around?”

During that conversation I labelled myself as a (and I quote myself directly) a “Destitute D!$khead” and although it sounds like I may be being hard on myself – it’s true! It wasn’t that I ran out of money and had lived in my car – it was that I sat there I felt “Oh woe is me” and felt sorry for myself.

I made some massive mistakes during the GFC some 8 years ago and it wasn’t so much “I stuffed up” but I criticize my former self for being so down about it and not turning my life around earlier. I eventually did – when I turned 32, I really started to turn my life around and in answering Greg’s question in this blog, in once sentence this is how I did it:

– I stopped feeling sorry for myself. Accepted what happened. Came up with a great idea. Took massive action. Made it happen.

That is simple as that. I went from someone ‘thinking & talking BS’ to someone who got stuff done. Surprise, Surprise – some years later I am successful and considered a leader in my field.

My advice and thinking on this one? Take action. Get what you have to done ASAP and kick butt. Don’t feel sorry for yourself. Feel sorry for your opposition for the pain you will bring them LOL

Love your work, thank you Greg for the great question & Stay Awesome!
