This fun photo on my page gave across the image of success. Perfect!

One key area of my business that I have been working on lately is the ‘image’ and the style of myself / my work that I give to the market. I used to be known as friendly, but tragically ‘daggy’ / ‘dad’s jokes’ like which wasn’t quite me.

People used to look at earlier sides of me and think “Well Edward is nice, but does he have the goods?”. I have had the goods (and more than enough of them all along) and as things played out I realised that I must get across the image that I do have the goods and really know what I am doing inside out.

Probably about 3 months ago, I made a massive change to my Facebook marketing which has really helped. As I am a Marketing Mentor, I sell ‘success’ inside out. That is – people will only hire me if I can help make them successful through helping them improve their marketing and getting more high value clients.

After realising this, I changed my actual Facebook Strategy. Every post I now put out must give the image of success, demonstrate what I am all about, show that yes I am friendly and get across that I work with some of the best players in town. I was actually scrolling through my Facebook Business Page Feed and I was quite impressed the other day.

Everything is success, can do, optimistic, powerful with substance and strength. Without any surprise over the past month especially, there has been a massive uptick in my engagement and sales results online. In summary, I am getting across the image / positioning that is actually me. I have been a successful friendly person all along and lately my Facebook is really starting to communicate that.

My advice and thinking friends? Question the image you are giving on Facebook / Online and ask yourself those difficult questions. If you know it isn’t the right image, start making changes and improving it. For me it was giving off more of a sophisticated / success type of vibe that has worked great. For you that may be the same or it could be you need to be friendlier? Happier? More serious? Or even faster?

Think it through and keep improving your marketing friends! It’s the only way to go.
