Sharon Grant win’s again. Love her work.

Its 11:15PM as I write this blog and I am ‘coming down’ from a fantastic networking evening run by Sales Mentor Sharon Grant. If you know Sharon; she is a powered character with a very high tenacity who has been doing her part to contribute to the Sydney business scene with quality events.

Her event tonight was actually run up against a public holiday. I would have never have done that, but she got a great turnout to her event and it was a fun experience of interaction, great times and results.

As I analyse the evening not just for the purposes of this blog but also my own understanding; there are obviously lots of things she has done right to make this all work.

The key one I want to point too was the actual ‘Event Experience’. Basically it felt ‘just right’ and I want to unpack that and give some more reasoning for discussion. This included:

  • Friendly and you were included: If you were alone, Sharon would be over interacting with you and putting you in conversations. Nice!
  • A great venue: The bar was a nice spot and people were so happy there.
  • Nice people: Sharon being nice herself attracted the right people.
  • A good flow: There was some speaking with a great flow of events in the night. You could talk, make friends have a great time.
  • A known outcome: Everyone was there for similar reasons (as this was stated well) and it just made things work.

My advice and thinking? The evening just worked as the emotional experience came together as a result of Sharon creating a friendly, can do environment. I think this was quite impressive and it reminded me as to what it takes to run a quality event day in and day out.

When you run events it’s not just what’s on paper; how you make people feel is everything. Being included, liked, accepted and having a good time is all part of making it work.

As you do this well, people come back, they bring friends, say nice things about you and the event just grows.

Sharon rocks and also too if you are in Sydney CBD; keep an eye out for her. She is on the move.

Love your work, stay awesome, please share this article and here’s to creating events with that ‘awesome feeling!’
