Capture those unique moments when you can. They pass in an instant!

Capture those unique moments when you can. They pass in an instant!

It was just this Monday I started my week at the beautiful and powerhouse CATC design school talking Social Media to a group of photographers. They are a very high powered technical audience and they rightfully BUSTED me hard with powerful questions that made me earn the applause at the end.

As they are obviously visual professionals compared to myself (remembering that I was an ex Strategic Marketing Director), we spoke quite a bit about the narrative, the right angles, photos and details of what it takes to totally win on social media. On speaking on this and going into things on a far deeper level; one of the key conclusions and realisations we collectively had was:

– “The importance of capturing that unique idea or moment”

In terms of writing blogs, taking videos, great photos and the like on Facebook, LinkedIn and my website – some of my best ideas has come from those truly unique moments of creative insight. Basically, if I did nothing at the time – the moment would have been lost forever.

However as I have taken instant action on those moments, I was able to capture those truly compelling moments with some posts even going viral attracting more than 500,000 views on Facebook (seriously!). If it wasn’t for me acting on that ‘creative impulse’ that moment would have never occurred, that post would never have come out and those new clients it brought it wouldn’t be in my life.

What I (and we) have learned about the modern world and social media is that importance of taking instant massive action on creative ideas. When you lose it; it’s gone – BUT talking to the positive; when you have it, you got it.

It can be that selfie with someone great you only have 15 seconds to do, it can be that video of something happening across from you or that limited window to get out that blog you totally love with some great ideas that gets you a new client.

My advice and thinking? Act on you creative ideas NOW! I am actually dead tired as I write this blog, but I had to act on this idea while I have it. You will not only improve your marketing on an emotional level, but you will have many new clients on your side.

Love your work, thanks for the inspiration and stay awesome.
