Hello Awesome People!

Regardless of whatever my ego says and how much credit I try to “Claim” for myself, I know the exact reasons of why I am successful today. Sure, I have worked hard and the like – however, being surrounded by the right people has been crucial to my success.

With Grant Demspey some years ago believing in me when no one else did, Martha Arifin who has been an amazing supporter and friend – right through clients and anyone who clicks “Like” on one of my Facebook posts, I know I am only around today because of “Awesome People”.

In very simple terms, Awesome People make us successful in that they often are mirrors of our generous selves. If we help them, they help us right back and the more we help them – the more they help us back and so on.

Speaking to the negative (yet straight up truthful facts), I remember being surrounded by not so awesome people. They love “Taking & Taking” to the point where we may be frustrated with nothing left to give. If we make the mistake of being close friends with people like these, we are usually up for lots of trouble.

Speaking to the positive, if we invest in great people we often get the favours paid back in droves as time passes.

My advice & thinking? If you know you are surrounded by “Not so Awesome” people, the first thing I suggest is really being honest about your own behaviour. In some parts of my early 20’s, I wasn’t exactly the most supportive character to everyone and as I hit my 30’s I really pushed myself to be someone that people want to hang out with. Are you a person that people want to hang out with? Do you help others as best as you can? Are you fun to hang out with?

If you are getting more “Yes” than “No” answers – then keep this up and keep your mind open to new “Awesome” people that come into your life. If you are finding people are just using you, time to move on – but if they are cool, then buy them lunch ASAP.

The more great people you are surrounded by, the more people you have supporting your case, promoting you and helping you kick butt. As this increases, success becomes even easier and more rewarding.
