Hello Awesome People!

It doesn’t take much of an argument from anyone to justify the importance of colour in marketing.

Cadbury protecting it’s own “Unique Purple”, the Coca-Cola / Virgin Airlines Red and even the Black & Silver Audi colours – there are endless examples of top brands using colour to help them stand out in a compelling manner.

As Small Business Owners & Entrepreneurs we obviously do not have the budgets of Coca Cola, Audi or Cadbury and it places extra pressure on us to really stand out. I used to be a Marketing Director with a $7,500,000+ Annual Marketing Budget and in that case – even if you create a “Slightly Average Concept” you can just pay for more advertising to get out of it.

Not the case at in Small Business! You got to stand out, be different and be noticed. As part of my great day of writing this article, I was very lucky to work with Tina Vella from Miss Lushes Lashes in the South West Regional Part of Sydney. She runs a 1950’s inspired beauty salon with even a lolly bar. Yes a lolly bar full of vibrant colours.

This is obviously a very cool marketing device she can use (which she does) to bring clients into the salon and create a talking point. What inspired me about the lolly bar was it’s bright vibrant colours that attracted attention in there. Even though I am staying off the lollies, it looks just great and got me thinking about colour.

You can use Bright Colours, Distinct Sharp Colours to grab attention from people. Be it a bright sign, to great colours in your Facebook Advertising – the more you can use colour the better.

I have found that when it comes to say Facebook – the brighter and more impressive the image is, the more clicks I get on a given advertisement. I even find the opposite – sometimes I deliberately use “Black & White” so what I do stands out against all the colour out there.

My advice and thinking? It’s great to do a bit of research on colours and even look at the type of emotional impact they have, the type of colours you like to use in your business and even so – how you can make your advertisements as visually compelling as possible. Be it bright colours or the “Audi” style of distinct silver & black – you can make your business look premium and really get noticed. For example, I love White, Blue & Black – works great for my own business. What colours do you like? Pick them and run with them.

The more you get positively noticed, the more Profitable High Value Clients & Sales you can get! Colours are not just “Nice things”, they can help you make money. How good is that?
