It is 4:21PM, Monday (Queen’s Birthday) and I am pondering and considering how Business Networking has totally changed my life.  Not just in a simple “It helps me get clients respect”, but more in terms of how it has enhanced my life beyond dollars in the bank account.

It has helped me in amazing ways such as rebuilding my self-esteem, giving me a new shot in life (after I lost it all during the Global-Financial Crisis), helping me build life-long friendships in a new city after coming to start again in Sydney and even in a Romantic sense it’s been awesome!

My PowerPoint is open and I am very lucky to be speaking at the upcoming Squeeze Wollongong Business Networking Event this coming Wednesday 7PM.  I originally started the Squeeze Parramatta event and this is our second time running it in “The Gong” with the opening one being a smashing success (feel free to join us of course!).

I am writing up the slides of what is going on my handout on the night – most of it is reflecting on the key lessons I have learned during my Business Trip to the United Kingdom and also talking to the benefits beyond “Just Making Money”.  My own reflections on the crazy journey I have been through is that sometimes you reach a point in your life where things just need a “Reboot”.  This happened to me in that after years of having my soul eaten out in the Corporate Environment, Being a Slave to Others and also not being rewarded for what I have contributed – I felt that things just weren’t right.

I didn’t have the answer of what I should do, but I knew that I had to do something else, something different, something amazing and powerful where I can help people and help myself.  After trying tons of things and failing miserably, such as Property Investing (yes the American silly stuff that only makes presenters wealthy), Currency Trading (which wasn’t bad, but not for me), Affiliate Marketing (which actually is helping my current business) – I eventually found that being the Marketing Mentor and Blogger was it for me!

How did I find that? It was a matter of trying EVERYTHING and seeing what really resonates with me and works commercially.  In finding direction in life – “Business Networking” and attending many events just seems to work on me over and over again.  Every-time I went to an event, I would meet someone and get that “1 New Idea” or clarification in my thoughts.  As the events turned into the dozens, I would be constantly developing myself with new brilliant ideas.

Three years later and reflecting back, it has been the most amazing time of my life.  The fastest I have grown, the most amount of money I have made and easily the most I have ever given back to other people.

My advice from my reflections? Networking is amazing in more ways than money.  When you hang out in the right circles and get surrounded by people as awesome as you are, your life will start working nicely all of a sudden.  If your life is already working, it will be like pouring tons of petrol on the fire – that I can promise you!

I hope you enjoy my ponderings in this article as I prepare for Squeeze Business Networking “The Gong” and as always check out my Online Course “The Awesome Marketing Vault” if you wish to learn more about Networking and Small Business Marketing.

Have a great week wherever or whenever you are and no doubt see some of you awesome people reading this article at Squeeze this Wednesday!
