The result of me listening to lazy & stupid people :)

The result of me listening to lazy & stupid people!

I had a very funny revelation the other day, especially reflecting on a few people I know and thinking back to my own past.  If you know me in the real world, I certainly take my work seriously and I put a lot of hours into my work.  I certainly do love it, and being a typical Marketing Professional I make it a core part of my life.

One idea that I have come to really respect and appreciate lately is the critical:

– You are who you hang out with! Take an average of the 5 x People you associate with!

When I apply this logic and either hang out with awesome people or poor people, I have found it so true.  If you hang out with awesome hard working people, they will drive you to be more awesome and hard working.  Conversely, if you hang out with a bunk of drunks who sit on the couch – they will strongly invite you to sit down next to them and watch some fine TV.

Even today, if I think about people who tend to pick on me and not support me and say I am a “Workaholic” or I don’t relax or anything like that (outside of friends who fairly pick on me for fun), they are usually high unsuccessful and not going anywhere in life.

My mistake – I used to listen to these type of people and my life used to suck! Now I don’t, it’s surprisingly working well.  The big thing that always got me wondering, is why do Lazy & Stupid people pick on hardworking people going somewhere? Easy – because every success you get continues to prove how much they suck compared to you.  And because they are eternally lazy, instead of getting off their butts – the idiots find it much easier to try and cut you down.  So stuff ’em for sure!

Of course if you are reading this blog post, you are the complete opposite of the lazy person – a hard working awesome intelligent person.  So my lesson from my big mistake – ignore lazy & stupid people and listen to hard working & intelligent people.  Hope you enjoyed this daily rant for sure.

  1. Hi Ed, You are 100% correct with that statement. It is also easier for most people to sit down and relax, it is people like us that want to sit down but keep on working instead that can see the future and know that they can sit down then but relax in a location of their choice and comfort. Not having to worry about where the next meal comes from and complaining their entire life that “life is not fair” or “you are lucky, money just seems to flow to you”. They are not WILLING to see the work that you did or what they would have to do to have the same as us. Love the blog and this is the first time I ever read anybody’s blog let alone reply to it.

    • Thank you Richard for the kind comment! I am glad you like it – man I have learnt some things for sure!
