Fine food and coffee helps too…

It happened to me this weekend. It was late Friday and I got tired. My poor brain had enough and once I completed my urgent work – it simply shut down on me.

I was tired, foggy and really overworked from the week and it was time for me to rest. I went to beach, ate some great food, hit the gym, played a bit of XCOM2 and got myself back in the zone on Sunday. My productivity then immediately went through the roof and it’s great being ‘back in the zone’.

It’s a common problem for many over achievers like ourselves. We work hard. We love what we do. We get tired and at times we have to put down the tools.

For me, I tend to wear myself out about 2 to 3 times a year (it used to be every month). It happens and ironically one of my close friends and colleagues wore herself out too.

What I have learned the hard way is that you have to automate your business in one respect, and in the other – rest when you can and work when you need to. When you work, you need to be massively productive so you get quality work done quickly.

My advice and thinking? Try not to wear out your poor brain. Rest when you can, however when you got to work hard – do it and kick butt. You will wear yourself at times and my thinking is get your urgent work done and then kick back.

You will forever be happier for it.
