Hello Awesome People!

I think it must have been almost the first month I started my Business (even before I Discovered the Awesome 4Networking) and I was very Grateful to Yve Lavine. She is an Intelligent, Witty and very Focused Photographer and Business Owner who always has that little dose of very Admirable “Attitude”. And Yve has always enjoy Challenging my Views and Thinking.

We have stayed Connected over the years and for a good 6 Months we kind of lost contact for a little while. One day, one of my Awesome Clients was getting a Photo Shoot done and had told me about this “Wonderful Photographer”. I saw some Great Photos and then I found out purely by Coincidence that it was Yve!

After Reconnecting with her, I had to invite Yve to Guest Blog on “The Edward Files”. She wrote a great Article about how having Premium Photos can help Businesses attract more High Value Clients. Enjoy!

“Have you seen the good, the bad, and the ugly?” Guest Blog by Yve Lavine:
Profile Pictures that make us Wonder…..

I know the Impact of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Profile Photos; I’m a Professional Photographer and it’s my job to Notice these things. Whether you realise this Consciously or not, you are Aware of this too. Let me give you a perfect example from one of my Contacts. He is a locksmith and when I first looked at his LinkedIn profile, I hate to say it but it was more like a mug shot than a Profile Picture (he looked like he could have been on last night’s Australia’s Most Wanted). I wondered if he even knew the Negative Impact it had on me, let alone anyone else’s Assessment of his Business.

Once that First Impression is made, it doesn’t matter if I knew him as the Nicest, Most Trustworthy guy in town, it would still Impact on how I viewed the Level of his Services and the Value I’d place on him to do the Work for me. Bottom line; I’d view his Business as a budget-budget Business. Maybe that’s fine, Maybe that’s what he Wanted?

But my Experience is, Business Owners seek to Sustain and Srow their Businesses. That’s hard to do when you’re not Taking into Account how much of a First Impression people have when seeing your image Online or off. Shoddy Photography, like a Limp Handshake gives an Impression of a Lack of Confidence, which in turn questions your Ability to Deliver Quality Products or Services and Ultimately your Audience Value Attachment.

One of the Key things that my Clients realise is, that today we have become a Society of people Searching on Google for everything. Your Business and Profile image follow you everywhere, so you might want to consider a few things when selecting your Portrait as part of your Marketing Strategy:

1. Who is your Audience? Fun, carefree, corporate, market leaders, sophisticated, easy going, forgiving, unsophisticated, etc etc….

2. In what light do you want yourself and your Business to be seen? Current, cutting edge, thought leader, run of the mill, everyday kind of guy or gal making good?

3. What do you want to be your Outcome in your Marketing? Market position. Respect. Authority in your field. Visibility.

Take these Key Points into consideration so your Audience knows you Respect yourself, your Business and ultimately them as your Client.

To Attract High Value Clients for your Service reflect this in all you Publicly display. Quality Imagery is as Valuable as paying attention to Grammar, Spelling and your Message when talking about your Business.

My goal as a Photographer for Small Businesses is to Equip you with the Knowledge and Skills to select the Right Imagery for your Intended Client. To raise the Appropriate Questions you need to think about for your End Goal.

I therefore invite you to take up my offer of a Free Image Audit to give you a few Pointers, Honest and Constructive Feedback on the Portrait and Images you’re currently using within your Marketing Strategy.
